I started to head off to the city, but realized I could not go into the city looking like I am now. So I pulled back some and I went and changed into my mortal form. To my own eyes, I looked the same, my fire colored waist length curls, curvy body, violet and gray mixed eyes, facial features so sharp that mortals would swear they could cut something on them and my sun kissed skin. The flower ink on my wrist, the lock amulet was hanging from my neck like the love I had for my soulmate, never disappearing and right at my heart. But to the eyes of others except my own kind I was a female with chestnut colored curls framing my heart shaped face and ice blue eyes. My facial features sharp, but very feminine. My complexion a soft milky pale color to enhance everything about me. No ink, piercing, or anything tainted the mortal form of me. I also changed my height from about 5'9" to 5'1", so I always made sure that when I was in mortal form that I screamed innocent, so people would talk to me. I walked out of the forest and into the city. I knew that there was a carnival near by so I started walking to the direction of where everyone else seemed to be going. A few people bumped into me by accident , due to my short stature in mortal form. They would turn around to get mad at someone for getting in their way , but once they saw me they would quickly apologize and walk away. Once I got to the carnival there were bright lights were flickering, I could feel the pulsing movement of people, big bears and unicorns dancing across the people, rides racing to finish, the screams of joy or fear from the rides, the laughter of children playing, the sound of couples playfully arguing who loves who more. Intoxicating sweet scents, caramel melting, sweat from the people and a hint of oil from the rides, and the sun setting just perfect. Colors of red, orange, purple, and yellow danced across the horizon, lighting up everything in the carnival just to the right color and making the view unmissable and unforgettable. I walked over and picked up a pink and blue fused candy that was spun on a plastic cone. I payed for it and wondered what It could be, and what it tasted like. It was so soft and fluffy it melted perfectly in my mouth and the taste was so sweet I'm surprised it wasn't a crime. As I was eating my candy, which I shortly found out that was called Cotton Candy, the necklace felt a bit warmer. I looked down and saw hints of gray that brimmed the edge of the lock pendant. My heart leaped with joy and the butterflies in me went hysterical He has to be near me! I thought to myself. I got up and played a game of hot and cold with my pendant trying to find him.
"Xavier! Where are you?" A voice rang out nearby and hearing that name sent shivers up and down my whole body. That must be his name, I need to find him or whoever is calling him I thought while I searched for the voice. I walked for what seemed like hours, but was only mere minutes I found the source of the voice calling for Xavier. It was a girl with jet black waves, tan skin, chocolate brown eyes, fit for a woman who was only a few inches taller than I. So, I walked over to her.
"Hey, I'm Lara. I heard you calling out for someone called Xavier. Do you need help finding him?" I asked her, hoping that she would accept my offer and let me help find him.
"Yes, I do. Thank you so much. He's my mate, but he runs off quite often," she said desperately searching the crowd for him.
"Mate? - Never mind. What does he look like so I can spot him," I asked. She then described the man I saw in the woods, MY soulmate! The person I'm meant to be with. "Well, let's go find him- Hopefully. By the way I'm Imogen," she said, smiling at me. We ran off to look for Xavier. Who is my soulmate, her soul mate, our soulmate? Whatever he is to me or us I knew we had to find him. So I started helping her to look around the carnival to find him.
