He looks at me.

"What?"

"They said you and I..."

He gritted his teeth. "Gloria, they said we what?"

I contemplated on whether to tell him or not.

I shook and my head hid my eyes in my hands so he wouldn't see me cry.

I felt his hands on my wrists as he pulled them away.

"What did they say?!" He shouted.

I started trembling. His eyes turned from anger to regret. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell."

"It's fine." I sniffed.

"Will you tell me what they said?"

I closed my eyes and opened my mouth but no words came out.

Finally, with enough coaxing from Billie (he said he'd take me put for ice cream) I spit it out.

"They said we had sex."

He smirked. "Live up to it then. After all, not everyone gets in bed with this guy." He pointed his thumbs to himself.

I glared at him.

"It's not funny."

"Okay, okay. Who all said this? How many were there?"

"How many are in my whole Junior class?" I asked.

His eyes widened. "Everyone? They all said that?"

"Minus Christian. He didn't believe it."

He nodded. "Don't let em get you down."

"I won't. My generation is zero. They'll never make it as working class heroes."

He laughed. "You're a poet-"

"-And I didn't even know it." I finish.

"So, ready for ice cream?" He asks.

I nodded and left to go tell my mom.

I knocked on her door and said, "Me and Billie are going out for ice cream. You want anything?"

"The last 4 months of my life back would be nice." She said sarcastically.

I felt anger boil under my skin, knowing she was referring to the amount of months she has been with Billie.

I left without saying bye to her and met Billie in his blue car.

"So, what ice cream place do you like, y'know?"

I shrugged my shoulders. "I guess we could go to Pistachio's."

Pistachio's was the best ice cream parlor in Berkeley by far.

"Alright, to Pistachio's we go!" He says happily.

"Where'd Mike and Tre go?" I ask after he pulled out of our driveway.

"I don't know. Why? You wanna hang out with all of us?"

I smiled. "That'd be awesome actually."

"Aren't you afraid someone from your school would see you with all of us?"

I shook my head. "I honestly couldn't care less."

"Alright."

We drove down the road and took two lefts before finding ourselves at Pistachio's.

"Don't you need sunglasses or something? So you don't get recognized?"

"Nah. I'm good. I just want ice cream."
