Rachael was standing in her closet, searching through all the dresses she owned.

Sam walked in, “wear this one..” she pulled out the dress Rachael wore for the competition.

Rachael sighed, “I guess I will because I can’t choose anything else.. Will you do my hair?” she asked.

“Yeah, lets do that before you get dressed.” they walked into the bathroom and Rachael sat on the edge of the tub, he feet in it. Sam started to curl her hair, and put some of it up. Rachael started to realize it felt like it did for the competition, except for all the sparkles. She didn’t think much about it, feeling a little nervous.

“You okay? You’re really quiet..” she heard the concern in Sam’s voice, “Yeah, just a little nervous..”

Sam stopped curling her hair, “why?” Rachael sighed, “I don’t really know.. But this is the first official date Cody and I have ever gone on.. I know we’ve take small ones but yeah..”

“You’ll be fine.” Rachael could tell she was hiding something, “what is it?” Sam laughed, “What is what?”

“I know you’re hiding something,” Rachael turned around, Sam now done with her hair. “I am not. Do you like it?”

Rachael twirled one of the curled stands, “I love it..” Sam smiled, “Good, no go get dressed.” She pointed to the closet. Rachael sighed and walked in, and Sam went into her room.

Rachael took off Cody’s shirt, knowing he’d have to wear it before he left, to leave his scent again, and slipped on the dress, zipping it up. She spun around and let it flare out, then walked into her room. Sam was sitting on the bed looking at her phone. She looked up to look at her, “Prefect.” Rachael smiled, “I guess.. Where’s Cody?”

Cody walked in, “I’m here.. You look beautiful” he walked over to her and pulled her into a hug, “You look handsome, like always.” she kissed him.

“You two better get going.” Sam said pushing them out the door and down the stairs. They hugged her good bye and went to Rachael’s car. Cody drove.

When they arrived they were greeted by the same hostess that Austin and Sam had been, but none of them knew. Cody had already requested the song to play after they placed their orders. They were seated and their drink orders were taken. A few minutes later their waiter came back to take their orders. After he took them he went to tell the manager to start the song.

When it started Cody stood up and held his hand out to her, she took it and let him lead them out to the small dance floor there was. Everyone stopped what they were doing to watch. Cody stood as he should, and Rachael started dancing her part. Cody met her in the middle, then she went to stand where she should, as he danced his part. They met back in the middle again and danced around the room, not missing a beat.

“Is this why you stayed with Tim?” she whispered, “Yes.. I wanted to surprise you” he whispered back. “Well it worked,” they smiled at one another. “I’m glad.”

When the song was coming to an end, Rachael spun in circles, until she reached Cody again, and he caught her as she fell down, into his arms. The whole restaurant stood up and clapped for them. Rachael blushed, and they bowed, “Thank you,” Cody said.

They went back to their table, where their food was waiting. “I love you so much,” Rachael said taking Cody’s hand. “I love you more.” he smiled at her. They dug into their food. Rachael couldn’t stop smiling, which made Cody smile. They finished eating and Cody paid the check, adding a tip for playing the song for them.

It was a little chilly when they walked out of the restaurant and Cody put his jacket around her shoulders, then his arm. Rachael put her head on his shoulder. They walked to the car like that. He helped her in the car, then drove them home, holding hands the whole way. They got home without Rachael remembering the drive, from staring at Cody the whole time. He had a little bit of a hard time concentrating on the road.

When they got home, Rachael jumped on Cody’s back and he carried her in the house and up the stairs to their room. Sam and Austin were in the living room and watched them go up the stairs. “Well I guess we won’t see them until the morning.” Austin laughed. Sam agreed with him.

Cody set Rachael on the bed and then turned to her, she put her head on his chest. He took his jacket off her then pulled her zipper down and she laughed. “What?” he pulled back.

“Nothing, I’m just really happy.” she said smiling up at him.

He smiled back at her, “Oh. I am too.”

They undressed each other and stayed tangled up for a while. Before they fell asleep Rachael made him put his shirt on so he could scent it up again. He laughed but put it on. They fell asleep wrapped in each other arms.

In the morning Cody’s alarm went off, he leaned over to turn it off. Rachael gripped onto him tighter and started to cry slightly. He wiped her tears, “Don’t worry baby, we can still talk.. I promise.”

Rachael put her head on his chest, listening to his heart beat, taking in every beat, “I know.. I just like it better when you’re here with me.”

He stroked her head, “I know babe, I do too. I’ll be back before you know it.”

They laid there for a few minutes and Cody’s phone dinged. It was Austin, “hey, just making sure you are up..”

Cody typed back, “yeah, about to shower.”

“Okay, me too.”

Cody put his phone down and picked up Rachael’s head, “Come on, let’s go shower.” they got up and walked to the closet and stripped down. Rachael went and started the water and they both got in. When they were done they dressed and went down stairs.

Sam and Austin were sitting the in the living room. Cody put his bag down, “Ready?” he asked Austin. He looked up from Sam’s hand, “As ready as I’ll ever be..” Cody laughed, “I agree with that..” he pulled Rachael close.

They all pilled into Sam’s car and headed to the airport. Sam paid the parking and chose the first spot she saw. They all walked in, and stopped when they got to security. Rachael hugged onto Cody. “Please don’t go..” she begged. He frowned, “I have to baby, I promise, we will be back together before you know it.. Don’t forget we come here on the tour.” Rachael smiled slightly, “That’s right.. You do.”

The boys hugged the girls goodbye, then kissed them. Sam and Rachael watched them in line, until they made it all the way through and disappeared down the terminal.

Rachael sighed, “I miss him already..” Sam sighed with her, “I do too.. Breakfast?” Rachael nodded, “Ihop?” Sam liked that idea, they hadn’t been there together in a while. They walked back to the car and drove off.
