The next morning when Cody woke, Rachael was gone, like he knew she would be. It made him a little sad, not liking waking up without her next to him. He got up and went downstairs. No one else was up yet. He made himself a bowl of cereal and sat at the table. He started to think of Austin and Sam. He loved how much in love they were, and was excited for Austin to ask her to marry him. He started to think about asking Rachael. He was smiling to himself, thinking about it.

“What’s got you so happy?” Sam asked, making him jump. “Oh, nothing, just thinking of Rachael.”

“Ew.” they both laughed, “not that..” he took his bowl to the dishwasher.

She was making herself a bowl, “so then what about?” she asked.

He sat back down, “spending the rest of my life with her.” Sam smiled, “I know you too will.”

Austin walked in, “good morning.” He walked over to Sam, kissed her then made a bowl of cereal. They all sat at the table, silent. Cody left to go get his phone, there was a text from Rachael, “hey babe, I miss you.”

He smiled and typed back “I miss you too. How’s practice?”

A few minutes later another text, “it’s good, I kind of wish you were here..”

“I wish I was too. I don’t know what to do..”

“Go swimming?”

“Maybe.. Could Sam bring me to the studio?”

“Yeah, going to start practice again. Just walk in when you get here.”

He went back to the kitchen to ask Sam, “hey, could you drop me off at Rachael’s dance studio?”

“Sure, when?” she asked, cleaning up her bowl.

“Whenever you’re ready,”  he walked back to the room to get changed real quick.

When he came back downstairs Sam was standing by the door, “Ready?” he shook his head.

When they got to the studio he hugged Sam and got out. He walked in the door and went to stand against the wall, watching Rachael and Tim dancing, to a song he didn’t know. The song ended and she ran over to him, and hugged him. “I’m happy you are here.” He hugged her back and she ran back to where she was, to practice another dance. Cody just watched in amazement.

Hours passed with out any of them really realizing. When Rachael took a bathroom break Cody walked over to Tim.

“I have a question..”

Tim looked up from his phone, “What’s up?”

“Do you think you could teach me your part to the dance to A Thousand years? I want to surprise her..”

Tim smiled, “Of course.. When and where?”

Cody laughed, “That sounds bad, but um, when are you free? I mean you already dance all day, and I will have to leave soon..”

“Well, I can stay an hour after each day.. You just have to meet me here.”

“She’s going to ask why I’m not home when she gets home thought..” Cody frowned slightly.

“How about an hour before in the morning?”

“That could work, what time is that?”
