Silent Beauty: Chapter Nine

Start from the beginning

I felt sparks flow throughout my whole body and Ally obviously had the same feeling because she gasped lightly. The kiss was soft and sweet, and fire ignited on my lips as the kiss conveyed all the love we felt for each other.

It was perfect. This was heaven, and I couldn’t think of a better way to have my first kiss. I know it might seem stupid and embarrassing that I haven’t had my first kiss yet, but I didn’t care. I was waiting for my mate.

I knew another kiss would seem right at the time, but I knew that when I found my mate, I would wish I had waited for her and I’m glad I have. Ally was the one I’ve been waiting for, and I can’t wait to do everything couples do.

I’m going to take her on dates, open doors for her, pull out chairs for her, wrap my arms around her when she is cold or scared. Then I am going to go all out and propose her when the time is right. Right now, though, I had to make it official.

I kissed her gently one more time before pulling away loving the smile that graced Ally’s face. “Ally, will you be my girlfriend?” I asked ginning when she looked totally shocked but still happy.

She got a playful look in her eyes and pretended to think about it for a second. “Hmm. I don’t know. I’m not sure you are my type.” She said with a joking smile and I growled lowly at her in a teasing manner.

She grinned at me before kissing my lips again and whispering. “Yes. Of course. Did you really have to ask?” Then she pulled away and reached out for the picnic basket while I mentally did a victory dance.

“So, can we eat now?” She asked happy and setting the food out, her eyes lighting up when she saw lasagna. Everything seemed fine, until suddenly Ally got a solemn look on her face. “After we eat, I want to tell you my story.”

I pulled her into my arms knowing that she needed comfort right now. I sat her into my lap and grabbed the plate of lasagna bringing it towards her with the fork. She just kept looking down so I tried to ease the tension. “Do you need me to feed you, or can you do it yourself?” I asked playfully and that got a small smile out of her.

Then we ate in silence just enjoying each other’s presence. We ate the lasagna fairly quick and I pulled out the cookies looking at her sheepishly. “I wanted to make everything myself, and this is all I trusted myself to make. I’m sorry. It’s not much.” I said looking down and rubbing the back of my hair nervously.

She grabbed my hand and waited until I looked up at her to speak. “I love it.” She said and my nerves vanished. I smiled and watched while she took a bite of the cookie. She chewed and tried to smile at me before she began coughing.

I grimaced before grabbing a cookie while she got ever her coughing fit. I was going to help her but she motioned that she was fine.  I hesitantly took a bite of the cookie and grimaced before spitting it out and coughing just like Ally had.

“Alright. I guess I should leave the baking to you.” I said and Ally eagerly agreed. After that little incident, we gave up on eating and I laid down on the blanket pulling Ally into my side and looked up at the stars.

I waited patiently for Ally to begin while I held her tight. She clutched to me as different emotions flicked across her face too fast for me to distinguish before finally  she began her story.
