Silent Beauty: Chapter Twenty-Two

Chapter 22

Liam's POV:


    I felt awful that I had worried my little mate so much. I usually would have left a note or waited until Ally woke up to tell her I was leaving, but I really didn't have time. I just rushed after Anthony, and I wasn't about to rush back into the house only to miss my chance at killing that man.
   
    I knew that the surprise I had for her would have to come a little bit early now that I had upset her. I just wanted to make her happy, and I knew that she had forgiven me, but I wanted to make it up to her somehow.

    I had been thinking about adopting Adam once everything with her brother and the Simmon's pack, but I think that now would be a good time. Ally was stressed about Anthony and I knew she was worried about the upcoming war, so maybe surprising her by adopting Adam will help her relax.

    I smiled at the thought of what Ally's face would look like when I brought Adam home with me.I had already spoken to Ms. Larsen and she agreed that Adam would like it if Ally and I officially adopted him since she didn't know how much longer she would be capable of taking of him.

    Now I just had to talk to Adam about it, but I was sure that he would be fine with it. He completely adored Ally, and she felt the same about him. I couldn't wait to adopt him and marry Ally, so we could have our own little happy family.

    I was so deep in thought that it took Ally thumping me over the head for me to finally snap out of it. I smiled down at her and she rolled her eyes at me before grabbing my hand and leading me up to our bedroom with Anthony heading up to his room behind us.

    I was confused before Ally finally pulled us into our room and glared playfully at me. "Thanks to you mister, I woke up early to an empty bed and couldn't get back to sleep without you there. So now we are going to take a nap and then we are going to visit Adam, and then you and Anthony are going to 'kill' him on the news so we can speed this whole conflict with the Simmon's pack up," she said sternly before climbing into bed pulling me along with her.

    I smiled at her and pulled her towards my chest breathing in her scent and allowing myself to relax and go to sleep knowing that my angel's dad was finally gone.


Ally's POV:

    I sighed and snuggled into Liam's chest. I smiled and looked up to see him grinning down at me. "Did you have a nice nap, love?" Liam asked while gently brushing the hair from my face and tucking it behind my ear. '

    I blushed and beamed at him. "I slept great since you were here." I said and he leaned down pecking my lips with happiness on his face before I continued, "Now. Lets get up and go visit Adam. I miss that little boy already and it has only been a couple of days."

    I jumped out of bed and hurriedly put some clothes on before grabbing Liam and dragging him downstairs while he chuckled, but I just ignored him and rushed all the way to Ms. Larsen's house.

    When we got there, I took a deep breath so I wouldn't scare Ms. Larsen or Adam by pounding on the door. I gently knocked on the door and waited until Adam opened the door, his face instantly lighting up when he saw us.

    He launched himself into my arms screaming, "Mommy!" I beamed at him. I don't know how this little guy had wormed his way into my heart after such a short time of knowing him, but I just knew that I would always be there to protect and love him as if he was my own son.

    "Adam! I've missed you!" I exclaimed before handing Adam over Liam who gladly grabbed Adam and ruffled his hair while smiled broadly down at him with joy on his face.

    "Hey buddy. How about you hang out with Mommy and I today?. I can hang out with you two for a little while before I have to get some work done." He said and even before he finished Adam was nodding vigorously.

    I giggled at him before asking, "So, Adam what would you like to do today?" He leaned his head against Liam's shoulder and I resisted the urge to say, "Awww," as Adam looked to be deep in thought.

    He finally looked me in the eyes. "Can we go get ice cream?" He asked hopefully like he was afraid that I would say no. There was no way I could tell him no, so I just nodded laughing as his whole face brightened when he knew that we could go get some ice cream.

    Liam chuckled and reached down for my hand as we headed to the car. I reluctantly let go of Liam's hand and got into the passenger seat as Liam put Adam into the back seat.

    We drove to the local ice cream parlor and Adam and I were practically shaking in excitement. What can I say? I'm a little kid at heard, and I love ice cream. When we pulled up, I quickly grabbed Adam and we practically sprinted inside. Liam just followed behind at a leisurely pace.

    When Adam and I got into the shop we immediately rushed to the counter and stared at all the flavors. I don't know why I even bothered since I always get mint chocolate chip ice cream.

    The lady had just asked us what flavor we wanted when I felt Liam's hand come around my waist. He leaned down and rested his chin on my shoulder. I smiled before turned back to the girl behind the counter who looked to be about 16. I was just about to tell her what I wanted when she sighed longingly and stared wistfully at Liam and I. "You guys are just the cutest little family. I wish I had some guy to look at me the way he looks at you." She said before shaking her head and blushing when she realized what she had said.

    I just smiled at her. "Don't worry. You will find somebody someday and he'll be worth the wait." I said turning to Liam and looking up at him lovengly. He returned the look before pecking me softly on the cheek. Then he turned towards the girl at the counter who was looking at us in awe again and chuckled.

   
    "I'll have a scoop of rocky road, my girl will have a waffle cone with mint chocolate chip, and what do you want little guy?" Liam asked Adam who was concentrating like choosing which flavor of ice cream was the biggest decision he would ever make.

    He finally looked up to the girl at the counter. "I want a big scoop of cookie dough!" He declared proudly before turning to Liam and puffing out his chest."Daddy, I am a big boy. I'm not a little guy." He said defiantly and seriously making both Liam and I try to hold in our laughter.

    Liam finally calmed down enough to speak. "You're right, Adam. I'm sorry." He said and Adam nodded with his arms crossed while Liam turned to pay the girl for our ice cream that she had set on the counter not wanting to interrupt our family moment.

    She gave us a smile as we went to sit at a booth in the corner of the store. We were enjoying our ice cream and laughing at Adam as he made a mess all over his face. I giggled at Adam once again when I heard a nasally voice exclaim, "Lee, Lee!"

    I turned around to see Gina, a slut from school running over to us as fast as she could in her 6-inch stiletto heels. I instantly put my head down as memories bombarded me. I remembered everything she and her group of friends had ever said to me, how many times they told me to just kill myself, and how often I was shoved into lockers in the hallways.
   
    Liam seemed to noticed my distress because he quickly pulled me into his side and glared up at Gina as she reached our table. She completely ignored his glare as well as Adam and I as she started to speak. "Oh Lee, Lee. Where did you disappear to? You were only at school for like a week and then you just like missed the last like 2 months of school" She screeched using the word "like" way too many times.

    She leaned on Liam as if I wasn't even there while Liam just looked at her in disgust. "Sorry…. whatever your name is, but I really don't feel the need to explain myself to you. Now if you would excuse me I would like to get back to enjoying ice cream with my girlfriend." He said before turning to me and completely ignoring Gina who looked shocked that he had actually just rejected her.

    I smirked slightly and focused on Liam before returning my attention to Gina who scoffed. "Oh, Lee, Lee. You could do so much better than some gold digging slut who is obviously just with you so she doesn't have to take care of her bastard child over there alone." She sneered at me and I put my head down knowing that none of what she said was true, but still feeling ashamed that she thought that of me.

    Liam growled lowly so only I could hear and I felt him trembling slightly as he glared hatefully at Gina who was smirking triumphantly at me. Liam stood up making sure to not jostle me as he did so.

    He towered over Gina who was not looking unsure about what she said when she noticed the hateful glint in his eyes. He was still shaking so I stood up and wrapped my arms around his waste and buried my head into his back. His shaking immediately subsided but when I peaked around at Gina's face, I knew he was still glaring at her.

    I buried my face into his back once again as he began to speak. "Look. This girl standing behind me means the world to me, and I am lucky to have her, so I would appreciate if you would stop insulting her and making up ridiculous lies about her just to make yourself feel better about yourself. By the way, the amazing kid sitting right there is like a son to me, Oh, and maybe you should invest some more money into a dictionary so you can find some words other than "like" to fill your useless sentences instead of spending all your money on injecting plastic into your face and body to try and make yourself look prettier. Just so you know, its not working." He said before turing around and picking up Adam and walking out the door with his arm around my shoulders.
