Tim laughed, “About six am.” Cody blew out a breath, “oh man. Well, I love her, so it’s worth it.”

Rachael walked out of the bathroom, hanging up her phone. “Who was that?” Cody asked,

“It was Sam, she said something about wanting to take a vacation and she’d explain more later.” She shrugged.

“We can call it a day if you want.” Tim was putting some things in his bag.

Rachael hugged Cody, “I like that idea.” He smiled, “would you be okay if I hung out with Tim for a while?”

She pulled away slightly, to look at him. “Yeah, of course.” He pulled her back to squeeze her. “I’ll see you in a little bit then.”

She packed up her bag, kissed him, and walked out. “Well, that was easier than I thought it would be..” he laughed.

“Well, you don’t know a lot of people here, so maybe she just thinks you want to spend time with someone other than everyone at the house.” he was changing Cds. “good thing you wore athletic shorts, and not your normal cut offs, or this would be difficult.”

Cody laughed, “yeah I just threw something on,” he looked down, “not really noticing until know, what I put on” he laughed, and Tim joined, “I’ve been there, having a two year old.”

“Maybe this could work, practicing after, if she thinks that..” Cody was taking everything out of his pockets and putting it on the table.

Tim thought for a moment, “it could.” He put Cody how he needed to be for when the song started. “I’ll do her part, since she starts, then you can just walk to met me in the middle, and then we will stop and I’ll show you mine. Do you remember any of it, from watching?” he asked.

“I think so, maybe a little.. I guess we will see.” Tim hit play, and started twirling, like Rachael would have. He motioned for Cody to meet him in the middle, then hit pause.

“Okay, show me what you think you remember,” Cody started to move his body, trying to remember. “That’s actually pretty good, you need to loosen up a little more, though.” Tim hit play and started to dance his part, while Cody watched, trying to take it all in. When Tim stopped moving he saw Cody frowning, “you okay?” he asked.

Cody sighed, “yeah, I’m just not much of a dancer, at least not this slow..” Tim laughed, “It’s not as hard as it looks, we will do step by step. When do you guys leave?”

“Well, Austin and I have to head to Florida in week, then we leave for tour a few weeks after that.”  he frowned thinking about it. “Does she know that?” Tim asked.

“She knows I have to leave.. Just not in a week.. I don’t want to upset her..” he looked away. “I think you should let her know.. She’s going to be more upset later". Cody knew he was right. “I’ll tell her when I get home.. Let’s practice.”

Cody was picking up the dance a lot faster than they both thought he would. They laughed a lot, being two guys dancing to a rather slow song, and Tim playing the role as the girl. When Tim saw it was almost seven he decided they should call it quits for the day. He drove Cody home, “Thanks again, see you tomorrow?” he asked. Tim shook his head, “you’re welcome.”

Cody walked into the house and couldn’t find anyone. He knew they had to be home, all their cars were in the drive way. When he walked over to the patio door he saw Austin chasing Rachael around the pool, probably trying to push her in. He went up to the room to change into his swim trunks.

“Hey, where have you been?” her mom was coming out of her room.

Cody stopped, “I was with Tim for a little..”

“Oh okay, well, I’m going to start dinner now. They are by the pool.”

“Thanks,” Cody smiled, even though he already knew that.

He changed quickly and grabbed a towel, then practically ran outside. He felt kind of sore, but ignored it. When Rachael saw him she ran to him and crashed into him. He winced slightly but she didn’t see, but Sam did and gave him a look, he just shook his head. Rachael was gripping him so tight he almost couldn’t breath.

“I.. missed… you… too..” he breathed out. She let him go, and he could tell Austin already told her. “When were you planning on telling me?” she asked.

“Later today.. I just don’t want you to be sad.” he sighed. “well I’m going to be, in the end.. But I know you have to go..” She walked back to the pool, to close to Austin and he pushed her in. Everyone started laughing. When she came back up for air, she pushed herself out. Austin didn’t notice at first because he was laughing to hard, but Sam got up and helped her push him in.

“Hey! I thought you were on my side!” he looked at Sam, laughing. “She’s my best friend, so, I’m always on her side.” they high fived. Austin got out and looked at Cody. The girls started to back away.. “okay wait, we can talk about this for a minute,” they had their hands up. They boys ran, grabbed them, and pushed them in, falling with them.

Cassie and Aaron showed up, in their swim suits, “well finally, where have you guys been?” Sam asked them. They laughed, “you don’t want to know..” Cassie joked. Everyone acted like they were throwing up, and laughed. “get your minds out of the gutter” Aaron laughed, “her mom wanted to talk to us.”

They jumped in and played pool games until Rachael’s mom called saying dinner was done. When they got to the deck her mom had already made plates and set them around the table, “you didn’t have to do that mom” Rachael said. “Well, I think it’s easier than you all come in the house, still dripping, then pushing to get food.” she laughed. They all picked a seat and dug in. “I have dessert too, if you want it.” Her mom said and walked inside.
