Damon sipped the blood wine. He was throwing all he had written into the fire place.

"What are you doing?"- Stefan swished in.

"Nothing- playing with fire."- Damon said tossing another note book in the fire.

"I've done everything wrong! Everything!!"- Damon said taking a good sip of the wine and then tossed the bottle into the fire.

"You have to stop this!!"- Stefan took hold of Damon.

"Now that I finally know who I really am- now that I really know who I want...it is all too late!!"- Damon said moving away from Stefan.

"So - this is it? You are back to your miserable self!?"- Stefan remarked.

"Burning bridges!! That's what I do best!!"- Damon said swishing out of the Boarding House.

Stefan didn't go after him. He could not be his brother's guardian. And noone would ask that of him.

Time didn't matter to Damon. Not anymore.

In a bar somewhere

"What are you drinking?"- a person said-

"Merlot! And you!!"- Damon said and ran his fangs in the woman who sat next to him. As he had enough he just got up, the woman slumped on the floor. It was a vampire dive, so they picked the woman up and compelled her. Damon walked out into the night lighting a cigarette up and walked down the road. And then at seven he would stand in front of an Institute and wait for her to get out.

And every night someone would wait for her and she would walk in the guy's hug and smile at him giving him a kiss and they would walk to the car.

Damon would toss the cigarette away and swish into no particular direction. And so it was nearly every night in the last several years.

Hello, it's me, I was wondering
If after all these years you'd like to meet to go over everything
They say that time's supposed to heal, yeah
But I ain't done much healing

Hello, can you hear me?
I'm in California dreaming about who we used to be
When we were younger and free
I've forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet

There's such a difference between us
And a million miles

Hello from the other side
I must've called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry, for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home

Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry, for breaking your heart
But it don't matter, it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore

Hello, how are you?
It's so typical of me to talk about myself, I'm sorry
I hope that you're well
Did you ever make it out of that town where nothing ever happened?

It's no secret
That the both of us are running out of time

So hello from the other side
I must've called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry, for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home

Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry, for breaking your heart
But it don't matter, it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore

And he would look at his phone and he would call her in his mind a zillion times and whisper-

"I am sorry, Bon Bon!"

And he walked away.

In a bar somewhere

"What do you want?"- the bartender asked Damon

"Bordeaux!"- Damon said.

"This is not a wine bar! Tequila?"- the bartender offered.

"Tequila!"- Damon said.

The bartender served him the drink.

Damon took the phone out of his pocket, took the shot of tequila and dialled the number.
