Chapter 2: Baby set up

Edward's POV:

Around 6am Alice and Rose went to the store to get Bella stuff like clothes, baby bottles, binkies, formula, toys, blankets, diapers and much more stuff I'm sure.

Bella hasn't woken up yet and it's 6:30am. She sleeps good for a baby. I can hear her tiny heart beat but I can't hear her thought for some reason. Which is very odd. Alice can see her future though and Jasper can feel her emotions. Its quite irritating not being able to hear her thoughts. It will be even more irritating when she gets older.

"Here Edward hold her please," Esme says. I take Bella from her. Esme, Carlisle, Em, and Jaz are going hunting. When Alice and Rose get back I will go with them.

A few minutes after they leave Bella begins to cry.

"Shh......Shh." I say while bouncing her a little bit. She doesn't stop. I hum a song to her and she stops and just stares at me. Its the first time she has opened her eyes. They are a beautiful dark chocolate brown.

While humming I touch my hand to her cheek she shivers a little. I take my hand off her cheek. My hand hovers over her cheek though. She grabs my finger with her tiny hand. I smile. If only I knew what she was thinking.

Alice bursts through the door Rose right behind her.

"Ok so I got a bunch of this stuff that I'm sure she will love! Omg I can't believe we have a new little sister to look after this is going to be awesome!" She says very excited. Bella still has a hold on my finger.

"So we're should I set her crib up?" Alice asks.

"You bought her a crib?" I ask.

"Well duh," Alice says.

"She will probably just sleep in our arms most of the time. But I mean whatever Alice," I say rolling my eyes a little.

"I'm gonna set it up in your room," Alice says pointing at me. I nod.

Can I hold her? Rose thinks. I nod. She takes Bella from me.

When are they coming back from hunting? Rose thinks.

"Hey Alice what time are they coming back?" I ask her.

"10 minutes!" She says. After a about 10 more seconds she comes downstairs.

"Ok I got the crib done and I put her clothes in your closet on an empty shelf," She tells me. I just nod. She takes off to the kitchen I can hear her opening the draws and putting things inside them. A few seconds later she comes back. Bella starts crying. I rush over to the kitchen where Alice put her formula and bottles and quickly make her a bottle.

When I got back into the living room I gave the bottle to Rose. She smiled and gave it to Bella.

"Her eyes are beautiful," Rose said while feeding her.

"Yeah," Was all I could think to say.

The day went by quickly. When everyone else for back from hunting Rose, Alice, and I went. When we got back Emmett was watching football, Carlisle was in his office doing something, Esme was thinking of how to set up Bella's room when she got older and holding Bella, and Jasper was in his room reading something.

As soon as we got home I took Bella from Esme and sat down to watch football with Emmett. We all just kind of did our own thing for the rest of the day. Taking care of Bella is our main priority. Rose, Esme, and I are most attached to her. Esme has taken over as her mother, Rose as a big sister, and me as a protector/brother.

Around 5 while I was sitting on the couch humming to Bella, Alice came and sat next to us.

"Just so you know, the whole brother thing will only last until she is about 16," She said while laughing slightly. It made me smile.

"16 years is a long wait," I said while laughing a little too.

"You'll live," She joked.

"Maybe," I said back jokingly.
