Chapter 33

‘Wha-’ Hermione started softly.
‘You’re in the Hospital Wing because Pansy used a spell on you and you fell backwards.’ Draco said.
‘Don’t worry I’m with you.’ Draco said.
‘Malfoy?’ Hermione said.
‘Yes it’s me.’ Draco said smiling.
‘Let go of me!’ Hermione said pulling her hand back.
‘Wha-what?’ Draco asked confused.
‘Malfoy what the heck are you doing here?’ Hermione asked coldly.
‘Hermione?’ Draco said confused.
‘Since when do you call me by my surname?’ Hermione asked confused.
‘Is everything okay over here?’ Madam Pomfrey asked looking at Draco and then at Hermione.
‘Oh my, you’re awake, that is great.’ Madam Pomfrey said smiling.
‘Madam Pomfrey can you maybe get Malfoy away from me?’ Hermione asked.
Madam Pomfrey looked confused.
‘Mister Malfoy can you please wait outside?’ Madam Pomfrey asked.
‘Yes, but is there something wrong?’ Draco asked.
‘Please wait outside.’ Madam Pomfrey said.
Draco stood up and walked away and Madam Pomfrey closed the curtains. Draco wrote a note with the things that were standing on a table in the Hospital Wing and enchanted it so it would go to Ginny. He let it go and it flew away. After a few minutes Ginny, Harry and Ron were standing in the Hospital Wing heavily panting of the running.
‘She’s awake?’ Ginny asked.
‘Yes, but she was acting really strange.’ Draco said.
‘What do you mean?’ Harry asked confused.
‘She wanted me to go away and she named me by my last name.’ Draco said frowning.
‘Well who wants you to be around?’ Ron asked.
Ginny punched her brother on his arm and gave him a deadly glare.
‘That’s strange indeed.’ Harry said who choose to ignore his best friend.
‘Hmm.’ Draco said.
‘But she woke up right?’ Ginny asked.
Draco nodded.
‘That’s a good thing.’ Ginny said smiling.
Draco smiled and nodded.
‘And maybe she is just a bit weird because of the long sleep.’ Ginny said.
‘That’s a possibility.’ Draco said.
Then the doors opened again and Professor McGonagall walked in.
‘I heard Miss Granger woke up.’ She said smiling.
Draco looked at Harry and he nodded.
‘That’s wonderful.’ She said coming towards the four of them.
They all nodded and then the curtains opened and Madam Pomfrey came out and closed them behind her. She turned around and looked at the five faces that were now staring at her.
‘Is she okay?’ Draco asked.
‘She’s awake, but there is something wrong.’ Madam Pomfrey said.
‘What is wrong?’ Draco asked.
‘I know you’re not going to like this, but she has amnesia.’ Madam Pomfrey said.
‘SHE HAS WHAT?’ Draco asked.
‘Amnesia.’ Madam Pomfrey said.
‘What do you mean with that doesn’t she remember who she is?’ Draco asked.
‘Oh no, she knows who she is and as you noticed she knows who you are.’ Madam Pomfrey said.
‘But what did she forget then?’ Draco asked.
Madam Pomfrey looked down and then back up.
‘She remembers until the point that you were hunting Horcruxes .’ Madam Pomfrey said.
‘She what?’ Draco asked.
‘So she doesn’t remember that we are together….’ Draco said softly.
‘I’m so sorry Draco.’ Ginny said.
‘What now?’ Draco asked.
‘I’m sorry Mister Malfoy, but you can’t change it.’ Madam Pomfrey.
‘You need to wait until she gets her memory back.’ Madam Pomfrey said.
‘How long will take that?’ Draco asked.
‘That can be a week, months, years or maybe never.’ Madam Pomfrey said.
Draco got a huge headache and he felt a pang in his heart.
‘But does she remember the end of the Wizarding War?’ Harry asked.
Madam Pomfrey shook her head.
‘What just until the point of hunting the Horcruxes?’ Ron asked.
‘Yes unfortunately.’ Madam Pomfrey said.
‘But then she doesn’t know the Dark Lord is gone?’ Draco asked.
‘No.’ Madam Pomfrey said.
‘She was asking what she did here and if you guys were okay.’ Madam Pomfrey said.
‘Can we talk to her?’ Ginny asked.
‘Yes, but don’t push her to hard, it can end badly if you try to refresh her memory right now, she has just woken up.’ Madam Pomfrey said.
They nodded.
‘Oh and Mister Malfoy can you please stay here?’ Madam Pomfrey asked.
‘What why?’ Ginny asked.
‘He’s her boyfriend.’ She added.
‘Because one she asked if he could go away and two she doesn’t remember they are together and we don’t want to make it worse.’ Madam Pomfrey said.
‘It’s okay, just go.’ Draco said to Ginny.
Ginny doubted and then nodded.
‘Shall I come to your common room after I’m done here?’ Ginny asked.
‘That would be nice.’ Draco said with a small smile.
Draco had pain on his chest and he felt like throwing up. He walked out of the Hospital Wing and up to the seventh floor to his common room.

Hermione looked at the curtains and she smiled when they opened and saw her three best friends walk in.
‘Hi guys, good to see you.’ She said smiling.
‘Hi Hermione, how are you feeling?’ Ginny asked.
‘I’m great especially to see you guys now, and especially you.’ Hermione said and she took Ron’s hand.
Ron looked at Harry and Ginny with a look that asked what now?
‘Erm Hermione what do you remember?’ Ginny asked.
‘How did you guys come here?’ Hermione asked.
‘I was so worried that You-Know-Who got you.’ Hermione said.
‘Hermione, we managed to defeat Voldemort.’ Harry said.
‘Really? When?’ Hermione asked.
‘Last year May.’ Ron said.
Hermione’s eyes widened.
‘What?’ She asked.
‘Last year May.’ Ginny repeated.
‘But-but what month is it now?’ Hermione asked.
‘It’s the end of March.’ Ginny said.
‘Oh my, what happened with me then?’ Hermione asked.
‘You remember Pansy Parkinson?’ Ron asked.
Hermione nodded.
‘She used a spell on you and you fell backwards, hitting your head and you were unconscious.’ Ron said.
‘What?’ Hermione asked.
‘But what happened in the time from last May to now?’ Hermione asked.
‘We can’t tell you because it can be too much for you.’ Ginny said.
‘No it won’t, I want to know!’ Hermione said.
‘Not now, maybe later.’ Harry said.
‘But we can tell you that you are Head Girl.’ Ginny said smiling.
‘Really? That’s great, who is Head Boy?’ Hermione asked.
‘Love to know who I’m going to live with the rest of the year.’ Hermione said smiling.
‘Draco Malfoy.’ Ginny said with a smile.
‘WHAT?’ Hermione said.
‘He has changed.’ Ginny said.
‘Sure he did.’ Hermione said.
‘Great I need to spend the last few months with him, sharing a dormitory with him, absolutely great!’ Hermione said.
‘And you’re sharing a bathroom.’ Ron said smirking.
‘WHAT?’ Hermione said.
Ron laughed, but he fast stopped when he received deadly glares from both Ginny and Harry.
‘Not funny.’ Hermione said punching what she thought was her boyfriend.
‘Oh and something else….’ Ron said.
‘We are kind of… erm like b-‘ Ron started, but Ginny and Harry fast made signs that he had to stop talking.
‘Yeah b…?’ Hermione asked looking up at Ron.
‘Broken apart from you being gone for so long.’ Ginny said.
‘I’m so sorry.’ Hermione said.
‘You don’t need to be.’ Ginny said.

Draco was sitting in his chair looking at the wall.
‘Mister Malfoy, Miss Weasley wants to talk to you, do you want me to let her in?’ Snape asked out of the sudden.
‘Yes let her in.’ Draco said.
Snape walked away again and a few seconds later Ginny walked in.
‘And?’ Draco asked straitening up in his chair.
‘She doesn’t remember a thing from the Horcruxes hunt.’ Ginny said.
‘What now?’ Draco asked.
‘She thinks Ron and she are still together.’ Ginny said softly.
‘What?’ Draco asked because Ginny didn’t say it loud enough.
‘Hermione thinks she is still together with Ron.’ Ginny said.
Draco’s eyes widened and he dropped his jaw a gasp escaping his mouth.
‘I’m so sorry Draco.’ Ginny said.
‘Haven’t you told her that she isn’t together with him and that she’s together with me?’ Draco asked.
‘No because that would be too soon, she just woke up, you have to remember that.’ Ginny said.
‘Why is this happening?’ Draco asked.
‘I don’t know, but if she doesn’t get her memory back there is only one thing you can do.’ Ginny said.
‘And that is?’ Draco asked looking up at Ginny.
‘You need to let her fall in love with you again.’ Ginny said.

 

A/N:

Oh my gosh Hermione has amnesia :O What now? She doesn't remember that Draco has changed and that she had fallen in love with him! What will happen next? Will she ever get her memory back? Or does she need to live like this for the rest of her life?
