Sitting on a fence.
Watching the storm clouds that are rolling in.
Both sides of this fence have worn upon me.
And I am not sure which way I should run.
So I sit upon this fence,
Waiting for the storm to enter into my life.
Hoping that somehow I will salvage whatever damage it may cause.
One side of the fence is the safe harbor I have always roamed.
There are people who love me and support this place in which I've grown.
The other is a beautiful meadow that I have always watched from afar.
The people who love me do not trust the meadow.
Safety is in the harbor
And in the things I have always done.
But there is something in the meadow that holds the key to my soul.
Will this storm that is raging destroy the things I seek.
Discouragement is keeping me on the fence.
Unknowing of what to do.
Seeking support among my friends and loved ones,
But knowing their minds are so full of doubt.
Doubt that I will ever be more than what they see in the Safe Harbor of life.
