Ava'

Stupid blonde freak, I muttered as I sat under a willow tree, my knees to my chest as I wrapped my arms around myself, I knew this place was going to be weird, why the hell was I here anyways?  I laid my head down on my knees, my hair falling to the side creating a blonde curtain, obscuring my face from onlookers. God, why am I such a freak. I could feel tears welling in my eyes and I forced them back. I would not cry, not now, not ever.

“Hey, are you ok?” asked a familiar voice. I sighed and looked up at Axel, but I was focused on the two people behind him. Holden and Axel’s apparent friend, Dante, Holden was looking at me with a concerned look on his face while Dante merely glared at me.

“What the hell did you bring him here, for,” I asked angrily glaring in Dante’s direction, Axel looking behind him and smiled brightly.

“He is my brother. Dante, this is Ava. Ava this is Dante and my friend  Holden.”

I jerked my head towards Holden, “Yeah I know who they are.” I said standing up now and stretching my limbs slightly.

Dante looked at me and walked forward slightly to stand almost directly in front of me, I had to look up though just to make eye contact with him. I could feel myself getting nervous in his presence, he emitted such a powerful aura, it was so dangerous yet it seemed almost as if it called to me. I was always lured to danger though, I supposed. Remembering a dreadful night where I ran away.

“Thanks for helping my brother, last week.” He said gruffly and I stared at him. he seemed genuinely sincere but then that slight scowl which almost seemed present on his face reappeared again and I found myself smiling, albeit slightly.

“Pleasure,” I said softly, now looking around at our surroundings. “Shouldn’t you guys not be talking to me? Isn’t there like some rule set into place?” I asked, glancing at Holden, remembering what he had told me earlier about this school.  Don’t get into shit, don’t be with me and my friends.

Well there goes all the damn rules he set out for me.  I could hear them talking now about something trying to get my attention but I was suddenly gone not listening to them but rather staring at Dante’s neck, I felt my body go cold as I kept on looking;

His supernatural markings....the v of the vampire and tiny, nondescript angel wings...

“You’re half angel,” I whispered softly, my eyes widened my mouth slightly agape.

He stared at me those gorgeous blue eyes boring into my own.  He seemed to be trying to read my facial expression but after years of being treated like dirt I’ve come to mask my emotions as to keep them from giving my captors any form of satisfaction.

“What’s it to you?” he asked rudely and Axel reprimanded him slightly but for the main part kept quiet, looking between us with a worried look. He feared for me, I smiled slightly at the thought.

“I thought angels were extinct,” I said and I felt my wings twitch slightly at my back.  I eyed him carefully as I waited for his response I looked at Holden and I saw him shaking his head at me. I guess this was a sore topic for them. I couldn’t help but smirk slightly.

“I'm a hybrid, my mother was an angel and my father was a vampire. My father was killed by his old coven and my mother was murdered because she was an angel.” He said, staring downwards an angered look on his face. “Angels are extinct and the only reason I'm alive is because my vampire side is more dormant than my Angel side, so I am not a threat to society.”
