Quinn sat immobile, a statue amongst the chaos surrounding him. The chains that bound him would not hold for much longer. From the corner of his eye quinn could feel the heat of the motion censor trained on his every movement. He wrapped his knuckles against the containment glass experimentaly, a few guards eyed him nervously. Quinn barred his teeth in an angelic smile, listening to there pulses pound against there ribcage.
He would watch the gaurds idly from time to time noting, the rotating shifts. and still in his mind he would see the female they called verity remember the way she had felt against his arms. A hiss built low in quinns throat, no mortal weapons could sustain him soon he would exact his revenge upon this place, and he had just the person in mind.
Quinn was saved from his thoughts by a pair footsteps echoing in the distance. he listend carefully as the sercurity key code was typed in. Quinn could barely contain a smile revenge was all to sweet. Vince entered the room not a moment later, he idly eyed the vampires surroundings a hint of sympathy burned deep within the young mans eyes.
"Lets take a walk" he smiled conversationaly.
"do i have a choice?" Quinn spoke barely above a sarcastic whisper. vince let out a mighty bellow, his laugh lines were more pronounced when he smiled. Quinn could see the startiling similarity between the sister and brother. he flexed his fingers to relieve him of the sudden extertion he felt whenever verity wandered into his thoughts. Quinn rolled his eyes doubting he could do anything but agree. despite vinces humurous nature there lurked a soldier, after many years in battle quinn could recoginse a fellow comrade when he saw one and he tempered his glare with a hint of admiration. whatever this man had in store for him quinn assumed his intententions were honourable.
or so he hoped....
Verity paced the room at an inhuman speed, She felt like an animal caged within this blasted infirmary! Somewhere in the distance verity could make out the muted voices of doc and nathan as they discussed the labs latest test results. The scan revealed a shadow to the left of veritys Heart. Verity could all to dimly recall the look of frozen horror on nathans face, when she'd told him of the diagonsis.
Verity had inherited her mothers heart condition, which was no surprise because by all rights verity shouldn't exist. She could perfectly recall there fathers exscuses of implications at birth and so on. Verity drew in great shuddering breaths, she would endure this no longer she had to talk to vince.Giving a whispered plea to whatever god was out there, she slipped silently past the two hulking figures. Verity didn't often feel like a theif in her own home, but this night every shadow seemed like a possible enemy, waiting to drag her back to the place of her nightmares.
Verity forced her pace to a casual stroll, as she passed several gaurds they smiled impishly, some even blushing when verity winked. This slaying was a rough buisness and being a woman in an organisation where females were few and far between meant that Verity was a target for many a handsome face. It had taken years for Verity to stake a reputation in this buissness. Afterall the name Verity Rivers didn't strike fear into the hearts of demons because of her bubly nature now did it? Since the age of 7, Verity had shown excessive increases in stamina, speed and agility. She could pinpoint the exact location of a demon simply by there increase in body tempreature, or the faint rustling sound they made when trampling on the earth.
Verity massaged her temples in small circular movements, as she entered the containment center, the beasts began to howl. The noise combined with Veritys sensitive hearing was enough to give any one a headache. Since the birth of technology, trinity had devoted its time to capturing these monsters, learning from them. Verity disliked the name monster but that's exactly what described there organisation. A couple of years ago Verity wouldn't have given two hoots if she'd been asked to bring back a demons head on a silver platter. But now thinking of quinn, the way his eyes danced with a calculated defiance, so sly so human. Well now verity wasn't so sure. And confusion was a very dangerous thing...
