Expect The Unexpected

A date??...

Almost a week later and I am being released from the hospital. My mum signs the papers as Shawn and I stand, waiting.
"There we go! We are good to go!" Mum says happily as she holds the release form in the air.
"WOOHOO!" Shawn shouts really loudly. I playfully shove him while giggling.

SHAWNS POV
(bet you weren't expecting that!)
Rachel and I aren't dating, but we have become really great friends and I can't help but like her and think about her.
"Shawn? Earth to Shawn!" One of my best friends Cameron shouts into my ear.
"Yeah yea what" I reply, thinking something was wrong.
Cameron snickers, "And what were you thinking about?" he questions.
"Not a what... but a who?" Nash says slyly from the drivers seat. Nash is another of my good friends from Magcon.
"Shut up guys!" I say, my cheeks turning red.
"Ohhh so it is a someone" Cameron says.
"I bet it's that Rachel girl that he went and saw at the hospital" Nash laughs.
"Shawny boy! If its her go for it!" Cam says excitedly.
"Ugh I don't know ok?! I like her but I honestly have no idea and I'm super nervous to ask her out and everything..." I say, I feel my cheeks turning even redder.

RACHEL'S POV
"Sooooo" Amanda says as I walk into her house. "How are things with Shawn!"
"Amanda...." I say embarrassed that she would say such a thing.
"Hey, you guys are hitting it off!" she says cheekily.
"I know, he's such a nice guy but I don't want to ask him out coz I'm way to bloody nervous, I would probably start crying!" I reply.
"Awww don't worry he will probably ask you out, I mean we didn't even have to ask him to visit you in the hospital he asked us!" Amanda states.
"Wow, I thought you guys did it" I say feeling really chuffed.

DING

"That's my phone!" I say, "just a sec..."
I walk over and see a text from Shawn.
From:Shawn Mendes
Heyyy just wondering how you are and if you wanted to come to mine and watch a movie?
I reply quickly with a yes, I would love to! and I quickly run over to Amanda.
"Omg look at this! I can't believe it! He practically asked me out!!!" I say breathlessly.
"Wow Rachie your lucky!" Amanda replies.
"Hahahaha" I say, but inside I'm really nervous. What movie? Will it be awkward? Will his parents be home?...

The door opens and SHAWNS head pops out.
"Why hello there" Shawn says casually "Come inside"
I step inside and look around, its clean and very very quiet.
"Everyone is out except my sister Aaliyah, but she is doing homework" He raises his voice for the last bit as Aaliyah mumbles something from upstairs.
I instantly relax, great no parents, phew.
"So I have 3 movie choices" Shawn states proudly "We have, 'The Devil Wears Prada', 'Minion Movie' and 'The Little Mermaid', the last one was my sisters choice by the way" He says chuckling.
"Ummmm" I say giggling at his sisters choice.
"How about the minion movie" I say.
"Sure" He replies and slides the disc into the player.

We have finished the minion movie and about halfway through The Devil Wears Prada I reach over and check my phone.
11:35 it reads. I look over at Shawn and he looks at me.
"What?" He says "Is there something on my face?"
"Hahaha! No don't worry it's just 11:35 (pm) that's all" I say.
"Oh hahahah, you can stay the night if its all right, we have a guest bedroom and you can wear some of Aaliyah's 'bigger' clothes." He says, while looking me right in the eye.
"Yeah sure, sounds great, I will just text my mum but she will be fine with it" I say happily.

SHAWNS POV
The Devil Wears Prada ends and I look over at Rachel, her head is rested on the couch and she is fast asleep.
I slowly get up and place a blanket on her carefully before walking upstairs to my own room.

RACHEL'S POV
I wake up and look around my, oh right I'm at Shawn's house. I snuggle in to the blanket that I'm guessing Shawn placed on me. I close my eyes and then open them again.
"Oh!" I say and jump a little.
A little face had appeared in front of me.
"I'm guessing your Aaliyah?" I say quiet confidently.
"Yes" she says while inspecting me. "Are you Shawn's girlfriend?"
"Aaliyah!" I hear Shawn's voice ring out from the kitchen.
"No I'm not, we aren't" I reply, smiling at Aaliyah.
"Breakfast!" Shawn bellows from the kitchen.
"Yum!" I say "What have you created?"
"Eh WALLA! I present to you... Microwave waffles!!!" Shawn shouts while shaking his hand around a plate with 2 golden waffles on it.
I giggle and he laughs and we both eat our waffles and are sitting back on the couch talking in almost no time!
Aaliyah come in and turns the TV onto channel 23, the kids channel.
I laugh and Shawn rolls his eyes. Aaliyah then proceeds to squish onto the couch, Shawn moves over and we eventually all fit. I look at us, I'm squished on the left, Shawn's in the middle and Aaliyah is sitting on the right of him.

SHAWNS POV
Aaliyah came in during the time Rachel and I were talking and squished in onto the couch, which then left Rachel and I basically sitting on top of each other, my left arm wedged behind my back to make room.
My arm starts to go numb and I move it out and onto the back of the couch.
"Go for it" Cameron's words play back in my head.
I do go for it and move my hand down off the back of the couch and place it on her shoulder lightly, she looks at me and her cheeks go red.

RACHEL'S POV
Omg! I'm freaking out! Shawn Mendes just put his hand on my shoulder and is acting so casual.
I look over and feel my cheeks burning up, I look away and blush so bad!
Maybe this will all work out after all...

YAS! Ok so here is the update and it is longer than usual and stuff is happening!! YAY
BTW I finally found out how to make writing bold! Genius! Anyway it's getting late so I'm going to go to sleep xx
