Aira stood on her very tiptoes. She was trying to put a package on the top shelf.

"Watch out!" Lloyd shouted as a small aeroblade crashed through the window.

Aira gasped at the loud noise and felt the step stool tipping. She fell and landed on her butt.

"Are you okay?" Lloyd asked.

"I'm fine," Aira said standing and dusting herself off. "I thought they were going to be more careful with those."

"It was probably Jay," Lloyd rolled his eyes. "Should I throw it back?"

"Please do."

Lloyd gave the aeroblade and expert flick of the wrist and it went flying back through the window. They wanted a moment and then heard an "OUCH!"

"How are you so good with all this ninja stuff?!" Aira asked incredulously.

"Huh? That was nothing just a flick of the wrist," he said showing her the movement again. Aira rolled her eyes and turned back to her work.

A few moments later the front doorbell jingled. A tall black haired woman entered. She had short hair and a scar on her lip. She was pretty but looked stuck up.

"Is this the Four Winds Tea Shop?"

"Sure is, ma'am," Lloyd nodded.

She hadn't recognized him as a ninja yet. He was wearing black jeans, a white t-shirt, and a green sweatshirt. The woman was very smartly dressed and Aira immediately felt self conscious of her dirty apron.

"I'm guess you both work here?" The woman said tilting her chin up.

"Aira does," Lloyd said. "I just help out sometimes."

"I'm looking for a special tea," she said.

"Well, that's what we sell here," Aira said coming forward.

"I was talking to him," the woman said rudely and gave Lloyd a flirtatious grin. Lloyd tried to raise his eyebrow but his cut was still fresh and prevented him from doing so.

"Well, as he said," Aira said with mock sweetness. "I work here; he doesn't."

"Well, aren't we snippy," the woman said giving her the once over.

"Snippy? Me?" Aira said sarcastically. "Why would you say that?"

Aira had decided that she did not like this rude woman. She had an air of arrogance about her.

"Haven't you ever heard the saying, the customer is always right?" The woman snapped.

"Tell me all about Jindal Tea and I'll believe it," Aira said.

"You should be fired!" The woman said sticking her nose higher.

"Don't stick your nose any higher," Aira said in a mockingly sweet tone. "You might drown when it rains."

Lloyd put a hand over his mouth to hide his smile. He tried not to chortle. The woman mistook his look for shock at Aira's behavior.

"You are a very sarcastic little thing aren't you?" The woman winked at Lloyd.

"Thank you," Aira smiled.

"That wasn't a compliment," the woman said annoyed.

"Yet, I'll take it as one."

"This is ridiculous," the woman said raising her voice. "Who would hire and insolent, impish girl like you to work here. You're probably one of those girls who had never had a responsibility before!"

"Now see here, Miss," Lloyd said cutting in. "Aira is one of the most diligent workers I know!"

"I hardly believe you."

"Have you had to work all day everyday to take care of your sick mother?! Have you had to spend your hard earned money on expensive medicine because you love her so much?! Did you grow up fatherless and penniless?!"

The woman was taken aback by Lloyd's reprimand. Aira's mouth dropped and her eyes widened.

"You are not welcome here anymore! You are rude and condescending!" Lloyd said angrily. "Go buy your tea elsewhere!"

"Well, I never!" The woman screamed.

"That's right, you never think about anyone but your stuffy self," Lloyd pointed at the door. "Don't let the door hit you on your way out!"

The woman turned on her heals and slammed the door behind her causing more glass shards from the window to fall.

"What a rude lady," Lloyd said angrily. "It's a good thing there are good people to counteract people like that. Otherwise I would have a hard time getting motivated to save the world."

Aira just stared at him in surprise.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I've never had anyone stand up for me like that," Aira explained.

"You obviously haven't had a good friend before," Lloyd smiled.

"Thank you."

"Hey, what was with that lady?" Jay asked rubbing his head as he walked in. "She hit me with her purse!"

"She was a rude customer," Aira said. "Got mad when Lloyd turned down her flirting."

"Flirting?" Lloyd asked confused.

"She was flirting with you big time!" Aira said. She was surprised he hadn't noticed.

"Flirting?" He asked again blinking.

Jay was practically rolling on the floor with laughter.

"What's so funny?" Aira asked confused.

"Someone flirted with Lloyd?!" Jay whooped.

"Why is that so weird?" Aira asked.

"Oh, if only you knew," Jay said practically crying.

Lloyd left the room hurriedly leaving a confused but still grateful Aira.
