This guide has mostly been about big-picture story stuff. I haven't post much advice on actual prose and writing. The way the words are put together. Time to fix that.

Here's a great blog I found with posts detailing how to actually write and string words together to effectively get across those big-picture concepts I've been hammering into your heads:

http://kidlit.com (linked in the External Link, and someone posted it in the comments)

I know it says KIDlit, but I promise this stuff carries over to all age-groups and genres.

Check it out and go through all the posts. Obviously, these aren't hard and fast rules, and if you feel the need to break them (FOR A VERY GOOD REASON), please do so. But this is how you tighten your writing and make it cleaner and more effective at getting across the things you want to say, so take heed padawans. Enjoy! I haven't gone through all the posts yet myself, so if something sounds off or contradictory to anything I've been preaching, let me know in the comments below and I'll take a look. But the posts I did read were solid and guidelines I adhere to in my own writing.

Like with any writing advice, take the stuff you agree with and see the merit in that works for your writing style and your story. Leave the rest, but file it in the back of your mind in case you come to change your views and do find you agree with what they said. It happens to me all the time, and it'll happen to you. :)
