After the elevator stopped, I ran straight out, heading outside to my car. Dad tried to stop me, but I couldn't think of anything else but to get to that hospital. All I could see is the hospital blowing up. And Jack being in the mix.
I sped out onto the road, my heart racing as fast as it ever has. Swerving around cars, I stayed completely focused. Until my phone rang.
"Shit!" I looked at the passengers side, looking at my phone, seeing unknown caller on the screen. Confused, I pick up the phone, slowly answering the mystery person.
"Hello..?" I heard a laugh on the line, almost making me crash in surprise.
"Helloo Doll." I sighed, getting really upset from Jack's voice filling my ears.
"Jack... What are you doing?" I could practically hear him smirking. He makes me so mad sometimes.
"What I do best Bell. Causing chaos!!" He laughed, that maniacal laugh of his. Then sighed.
"But. I called because, wellll, because I don't want you, doll, coming." I hit the steering wheel, letting out a scream. Why won't these people move?! And why does he think I wouldn't come?!?
"Now doll. No need for all that. Save that pretty little scream of yours for another time." I rolled my eyes. Yeah, if there ever is another time after Gotham is blown to hell.
"You think by calling me, telling me to stay away, I will listen?!" He sighed again, then giggled. I've never heard him giggle. It's kinda cute..... no no Bell! Focus.
"I knew you wouldn't. You just can't stay away from the chaos." Then he laughed, seeming humored about god only knows what.
"Or me." Then hung up, leaving me hanging on the line, my hand clenched around the steering wheel. I sped up, running every light. Maybe he's right. Maybe I love the chaos. And maybe, just maybe, i love him.
No. No maybe. I do, love him. And that's why I got to get to that hospital. And now!
