Lady Jennifer was born to inherit everything. She was supposed to become a Duchess. Showered with riches, jewels and royalty. It would be the perfect life most people would dream of.
Yet she wanted none of it.
She spent seventeen years being moulded into the perfect aristocratic daughter. Every word was rehearsed. Every movement was corrected. Every decision was made for her.
Her future was meticulously planned. University, charity galas, society dinners, a title, a huge fortune that she would inherit.
A life she never asked for.
One night, Jenny does the only thing she can think of.
She runs.
With a fake passport, a bag of clothes and a one way ticket to London, she leaves her family, her inheritance and the life they chose for her behind. For the first time in her life, Jenny is free. She can finally live the spontaneous life she's always wanted.
However, London has other plans for her.
A chance encounter with the underground racing scene introduces her to a whole new world of fast cars, dangerous people and a life lived on the wrong side of the law. Jenny gets caught up in a world she knew nothing about, surrounded by people who slowly become the family she never knew she needed.
What starts with casual late night races and a need for belonging soon becomes something far more dangerous than she anticipated. These races aren't just about speed anymore. Losses have consequences. Loyalty and trust come with a price. The people that Jenny surrounds herself with aren't always who they claim to be.
Then she meets him.
He sees past the fake name Jenny created and the walls that she has spent years building. For the first time since running away from her prim and proper life, she begins to wonder if she has finally found someone she can actually trust. Someone who makes her feel like she doesn't have to run away from her past anymore.
But Jenny is about to learn that losing a race isn't the only thing that comes with a price. The past has a way of finding you, no matter how far you run.
When the secrets surrounding the people she loves begin to unravel, she must decide just how much she's willing to sacrifice to protect everything that she fought so hard to build.
Sometimes the person you trust the most is the one who can break you the hardest, and that reality will hit you at a thousand miles per hour.
