"Ellis!"
A loud, banishing voice came from the kingdom. Ellis came crashing down from his little flight.
Smashing straight into the trees.
He came stumbling out of the tree, branches and twigs in his long hair. His wings stuck from the branches, the smaller ones stuck between some smaller twigs.
"Ellis! Where are you?!" That shrill, feminine voice rang out through the thick foliage. Ellis twitched before the tree gave up and dropped him onto the ground.
"Ellis! There you are!" The voice rang closer as footsteps began to approach where Ellis lay. Ellis sighed, his long hair pushed up.
Ocean blue eyes met her baby blue ones.
"Hey." He replied, casually.
"Hey.." She mumbled, crossing her arms, "How's the ground?"
Groaning, Ellis rose from the grassy dirt. His hair mused and ridden with branches and dirt. Picking one out, he glanced at her, "Amazing.. the dirt's really nice this time of day.."
She snickered, bending over, lending a hand out, "Come on.. Auntie's calling for you."
Grabbing onto her hand, he stood back up, folding his wings behind his back and tying his hair back, "Thanks Scarle.."
She hummed.
"Mother needs me..?" Ellis thought outloud, grabbing some bandages out from his satchel, wrapping them around his injured arm.
Scarle stayed silent, but listened to Ellis having his monologue.
------------
Ellis finished wrapping his arm as they finally arrived at the castle gate. Guards stood straight and silent. Seeing Ellis and Scarle approaching, they bowed before opening the gate.
Scarle thanked them, though Ellis was too lost in thought to do so.
"Earth to Ellis..!"
Snapping two fingers infront of his face, Ellis snapped out of it.
"Don't overthink it." Scarle mused, walking ahead of Ellis, "She probably just wants to see her little boy..!~"
Imitating his mother's tone, Scarle chuckled as Ellis narrows his eyes. That did not help.
Sighing, Ellis rubs his eyes.
He couldn't get sleep last night, practicing his magic all night with Court Mage Norrix maybe wasn't the best idea.
So many expectations to be able to be like his mother onto him.
His lips pursed.
There are some incidents not to be talked about.
"Ellis..?"
Scarle glanced at him, curiously. Ellis snapped out, blinking before settling his gaze on Scarle.
She gestured to the massive mahogany door with a warm smile, "Come on."
Ellis grinned nervously, nodding, following Scarle in.
The court room was a large, spacious room. Lined with silver and gold, it was truly the epitome of royal perfection. The walls were mahogany with specs of stone for contrast. Floors lined with marble.
In the center sat a U-shaped table. On one side sat the Human Monarchs, King Reimund Goldborne and Queen Kirsi Goldborne. Scarle's parents.
She ran over to hug them, which they happily returned.
