My parents warned me about drugs
In the streets.
They warned me about guys
In the sheets.
They taught me to be aware
Of my surrounding.
I should have listened,
I need to stop doubting.
They told me about all the dangers
That lurk in the world.
They told me how they grew up;
Their head swirled,
Their mind twirled.
Theirs thoughts going in every direction.
They warned me about everything they thought they possibly could,
But the one thing they couldn't warn me about
Was the person with the dark hair and
Hazel eyes,
They were something unavoidable.
They were addicting,
A cigarette always lit and
Pressed against my lips.
That person was my drug my parents never warned me about,
And they're slowly killing me
