Chapter 30 - Hush Tones

Ang daming tanong na naglalaro sa isip ko habang bumabyahe kami ni Justin patungo sa District One tulad na lang halimbawa ng:

"Nasaan nga pala 'yung motor ko?"

Ngumisi muna si Justin bago ako sinagot. "Your personal belongings are at the District One now."

Haayy. Buti naman. At least naka-survive 'yung mga gamit ko.

Hindi naman katagalan ang naging byahe naming dalawa. Mula sa ospital ay dumiretso kami sa airport kung saan kami sinundo ng private plane ng PUGITA.

While flying, Justin told me the things that happened the night we raided District Five.

Aniya, natagpuan daw siya noon ni Alexander na binubuksan ang mga walang lamang ataul sa loob ng isang silid—ang silid na nakita ko sa pamamagitan ng remote viewing. Kasunod daw noon, dumating sina Xander at Veronica na may mga kasamang agents mula sa District Zero. Hinanap daw ni Veronica si Apollo at natagpuan itong nagmumukmok sa sulok ng isang opisina.

"Veronica immediately knew what was wrong." Justin recounted. "She said she saw that same reaction with Alexander not so long ago."

The news was disheartening, pero sana...hindi magbago ang prinsipyo ni Apollo.

Nauna raw si Alexander na nagtungo kung saan daw ako dinala ni Michael samantalang naghihintay daw sa labas ng Kryptos sila Xander, Justin at ang mga back up mula sa District Zero. Nang marinig daw ni Apollo na hawak ako nila Michael, mabilis daw itong lumabas ng opisinang kinaroonan nito at tinungo kami.

Siya rin pala 'yung sumalo sa akin nung tinulak ako ng binatang kasama nila Siyete sa dingding. Itanggi ko man, alam kong utang ko ang buhay ko kay Apollo.

Justin also oriented me about the newly formed team.

Si Agent 3 ang team leader ng bagong team na pinangalanang The Furies. When I heard the name, I couldn't stop thinking about the three furies of the Greek mythology. Actually, the name FURIES was Roman. ERINYES was the Greek name. Nevertheless, they were dubbed as the avengers of wrongdoings.

Kung mapapansin, PUGITA was too full of Greek myths. I found it both comforting and annoying sometimes, but it was one of the things that made our organization beautiful.

Anyway, The Furies was composed of ten Novice Agents, ten Junior Agents and five Senior Agents. Hindi pa raw kasama roon ang isang grupo ng tatlong Cryptographers at apat na Tech People. Pero hindi na namin kinailangan ng Detectives bilang insider namin sa police dahil hindi na sikretong organisasyon ang Psyche sa mga otoridad. A disappointing fact.

Psyche Underground Intelligence Agency was a secret organization which specialized on espionage and undercover operations. Our organization worked with the country's police and armed forces. We also played as personal guards to the president in some occasions. However, only the highest officials knew about the organization's existence. They usually hired us to help resolve cases, but they never knew who works with a particular case. Malalaman na lang nila na tapos na ang kasong pinagagawa nila sa amin.

PUGITA was just a myth until maibunyag hindi man sa publiko, ngunit sa malaking bahagi naman ng pulisya na hindi lang ito alamat. It was a good thing though, because we didn't need to face the media and rant about the case (not entirely the case, only the killings). The police would do that for us.

And for the record, the police would be working with us side by side on that case. Great.

The plane landed forty-five minutes later. Mula sa airport, sumakay naman kami sa sasakyan ni Justin na naka-park malapit sa tarmac.
