Map of Glimmerland: In Glimmerland, the inhabitants include mages, magicians, witches, warriors, and dragon riders.
Glimmerland's education system focuses primarily on the study of a specific discipline. From the beginning, students are free to change their focus at any time if they find it unsatisfying. The most important library in Glimmerland is located at the central school of Lustria (The Principal Library).
The magic books in this library grow progressively larger, numbered from 1100 down to 1. Book 1 is the largest and most powerful. Among wizards, mastery is ranked according to how many books one has read—but they must be read in order. Failing to follow the sequence invokes the book's punishment, which increases in severity with the book's power.
Ranks and Punishments: • 1100–1000: Milenove This is the foundational level of magic. Punishments are minimal, such as a short, temporary burn. • 1000–100: Centnove Most magicians stop at this level, as the books grow heavier and more complex. Punishments are temporary but more severe than those of Milenove books, potentially causing wounds. • 100–10: Docpert Docperts are rare. Punishments from these books are longer-lasting, such as an illness that lasts several weeks. • 10–1: Unilever Unilevers are extremely rare; there may be only a handful in all of Glimmerland (Leamira is an Unilever). Punishments from Unilever books are permanent and can alter one's genetics. These books are protected by crystal walls to prevent misuse.
