Chapter 8 Part 1: Switched Loyalty
Emily's POV.
When I woke up my head was pounding, and my right leg was hurting. I felt a little cold even though I was under the blanket, and I came to the sudden realization that I was naked. The events came flooding back, and anger flooded over me. I threw the covers off me and stepped out of bed, nearly falling to the ground from the sudden pain that shot up my leg. After I got my balance, I limped over to the bathroom, and found my duffle bag there on the counter. I took out the soccer clothes Jessica gave me and put them on. I saw dry, crusted blood on my face and two large gashes on my forehead, when I looked in the mirror. I took a washcloth and dampened it under the faucet, then carefully washed my face making sure not to touch the scabs.
When I was done, I put on my high top shoes and limped to the door. The smell of warm vanilla filled my nose and I knew Rino was on the other side of the door. I quickly opened the door to see him jump, and hobbled past him.
"Em, you're up! Where are you going?" He asked.
"I'm going for a drive!" I said not stopping.
"Where? Emily, you can hardly walk." Rino replied.
"I am going to run around the track in my Camaro. Now are you coming to be there if I crash or not!" I answered hotly.
"I'll come with you..." He said running after me.
When I got to my Camaro, my leg hurt so bad I was almost crying. So I was relieved to sit down in my leather seats. I quickly shut the door, and started the car. Then an image of Damien popped into my head, I let out an anger growl and took off towards the track.
As I started around the track I saw a red Camaro following me, and I knew it was Xavier, a smile spread across my face.
As Xavier and I raced around the track, my anger was slowly replaced with sadness. After the seventh lap, I pulled close to Rino's blue Lamborghini Aventador and parked. Tears blurred my vision as I rested my head on the steering wheel.
Dustin's POV.
Xavier, Cole and I sat in the living room waiting in silence for this Emily to wake you, when we heard Rino say, "Em, You're up! Where are you going?"
"I'm going for a drive!" A female voice said that sounded just like the Emily's say.
"Where? Emily, you can hardly walk." Rino replied, and I noticed the sound of someone limping, badly.
"I am going to run around the track in my Camaro. Now are you coming to be there if I crash or not!" She replied hotly.
"I'll come with you..." He said and I heard him running after her.
"Xavier, she's your mate and I think you should race her. Only you can calm her down." Cole said catching me off guard with the mate part.
