Chapter thirty

After calling Sinbad and the rest of the last free people from the Old Days, and organizing how things would work out, Neah and the others were ready to break out. They waited until Freddie was sleeping, slumped in his chair behind his desk, completely oblivious to the world.

Neah snuck up to the gate and stuck her hands into the bars, trying her best not to touch them. With a bit of a struggle, she was able to unlock the gate and with the help of a few others, lift it open. "Alright," She whispered, turning to the gathered djinn and magicians, "everyone, head upstairs and start fighting any MWS members you see. Me, Yuki, and Adna will go and get the Imuchakk and Fanalis from this time, along with everyone from the Old Days. Sinbad and his group are going to start their attack in less than five minutes, so we need to go."

"Is everyone ready?" Yuki asked, his tone quiet as well. He was answered with a bunch of soft 'yeah!'s. "Alright, let's go!"

Although it sounded like it would be a dramatic, probably badass scene of all the djinn and magicians escaping from their prison and going to destroy their captors, it was more like a bunch of large, blue, men and women followed by normal sized men and women all quietly trying to sneak past a slacking guard. How they managed it, Solomon knows, but it worked, and once they were out, Neah and the other two magi parted from the group to go free everyone else.

Entering the new office, Neah called over her shoulder, "Adna, figure out how to open their cells while I unlock the gate!"

"Got it!" Adna nodded, heading to the control panel.

Neah quickly unlocked the gate and Yuki helped her lift it, the two magi entering the jail as the individual cell doors opened. Cautiously, the Imuchakk and Fanalis exited their cells, which were all located on the left of the jail. The people of the Old Days came out as well, their cells all on the right side.

"What's the meaning of this?" A tall and muscular Fanalis man covered in scars demanded. There were tons of Fanalis. Even young children, which suggested they had been born in the prison, having never seen the outside world. There were a few older Fanalis as well, around Adna's age of seventeen, who would have also grown up in the horrid prison.

"We haven't been out of our cells in years!" An Imuchakk member marveled. He walked to stand beside a few other Imuchakk, his feet pounding on the ground.

"Alright, everyone!" Neah shouted. Her voice was barely audible over the commotion. "Guys?!" No one heard. "Everyone shut up for a second!" Neah screamed as loud as she could.

"Neah?" Someone recognized her. It was Kouen.

"Miss Neah! How'd you get here?!" A short, blue haired boy ran over, Aladdin.

"Hey, Aladdin," Neah greeted. "We don't have much time to explain, so..." Neah turned to Yuki, "You can use gravity magic to fly, right?"

"Uhm, yeah, maybe..." Yuki nodded. "I haven't been able to practice magic much recently."

"Right, well, come on," Neah used her magic to fly above the large group before her. Turning to the group, she began, "Ok, everyone, listen up! We don't have time to waste here, but, we'll explain a bit."

"For those of you that don't know us," Yuki took over as Adna joined them in the air, "we are the three magi of this time and we're here to free you so we can defeat MWS."

"Also, for everyone from the Old Days," Neah added, "My group, plus Kouha and Muu, are fine. Right now they're fighting MWS along with the djinn and magicians of this time." A few relieved sighs came from the gathered people below.

"What happened with the Elites?" Koumei called to her.

"Ah, that...that didn't go well..." Neah laughed awkwardly. "What happened with your plan, Koumei?"

"Our plan didn't go well either..." Koumei admitted.

"Clearly," Neah sighed.

"What is your plan then, Magi? How are we going to fight these soldiers?" The male Fanalis from before asked in a deep voice.

"And did you say these people are from the Old Days?" The Imuchakk man asked, "How is that possible?"

"A lot happened," Yuki spoke. "But we can explain that later, right now we need a plan." He looked to Neah.

"Yeah," Neah nodded. "I'm thinking of having all the magi go after the Elites, while everyone else attacks the regular soldiers."

"Will just the magi be enough?" This time it was Alibaba asking.

"We should be fine," Yuki assured. "There's seven of us all together."

"Yeah! And if we combine our magic power, we'll be able to do some serious damage," Adna added.

"Neah, didn't you say they use the magi to power their weapons? Wouldn't that interfere?" Now it was Hakuryuu speaking.

"Oh, shit..." Neah looked at Yuki and Adna, "Can you two fight like that?"

"It will be difficult, but we can try," Yuki said.

"Alright, then that's what we'll do," Neah decided. "If we need backup, we'll retreat and find a metal vessel user or someone to help."

"Couldn't the metal vessel users just use their Extreme Magic on the Elites?" A Fanalis from Reim's corps suggested.

"We should save that for when we really need it," Yuki spoke.

"With all of us, from this time and the Old Days, fighting, we should be able to outnumber MWS easily," Adna said. "But we should be going soon."

Neah nodded in agreement, "Is everyone ready? Cause you don't have time to not be! We need to go now!"

The shouts of everyone in the room echoed off the building. If there was any MWS soldier who didn't know there was something wrong before, they knew now. Surely they'd even be able to hear their battle cries from deep within the battlefield. Years of torture and experiments had infuriated the Fanalis and Imuchakk of this time, and they were finally able to get their revenge and take back their lives.
