The Ashened Souls are mainly Dark Angels that had carried out both the Slaughter of Khaenriah and Sylvania, but there were some other Marines of the legions before the Heresy. When the Slaughter was finished, they became cursed to wear the ash of the Innocents they've slaughtered. Now they accompany Sylvania and the Order for Atonement.

They Despise and Curse the Legion and Imperium for what they have done. They were awakened by the Lies they were told.

Shoriel Seraphus: I can almost hear your mewing now. "How could he betray the Emperor? Why, Shoriel? Why?" Look at both Remnant and Teyvat! Look at it! THAT IS WHY!

The entire Multiverse is the Same; Broken, Shattered, Rotten to the core. Honor. Brotherhood and duty. They are no more than DELUSIONS and LIES.

We use them to justify the death and destruction we leave in our wake! I cannot TOLERATE IT ANY LONGER!! I have seen the rot that runs in the Imperium's honor......AND IT JUSTIFIES NOTHING.

My memories are full of the screams of those I have killed. Where others see life, I see only death. I see two of Humanity's achievements......DESTROYED. By our hands.

We all know how this will end. We have always known. It ends in BLOODSHED.

Marius Aggennor: I doubt any of you will listen to me, but I think I must say a few things. Ultramar is my whole existence. I have seen it's greatness in Macragge, and I've seen it's follies in Nuceria. More of the latter to the former, I fear.

I lost more brothers than I care to count. Every victory in the Crusade has come at a terrible price. This time, I've decided to pay it myself.

Humanity cannot endure what is coming from the Infernal Abyss. Our ranks are half of what they should be and grow thinner everyday in this Crusade.

Raw Power, True Courage and Faith in the Children of the Crimson one is needed to turn the tide. And if the cost is my own Damnation?........ So beat it.

(Dialogue of what he said when he betrayed the Imperium.)

Samael Azdallon: For once, be QUIET and listen. The Emperor expects us to be perfect, obedient instruments of our leaders. Leaders who are barely worthy of life, much less respect.

Malcador, who he and the Emperor had forced Juno and Roboute Guilliman to slaughter many Innocents in Monarchia, including Aurelia's Husband, her Little Light, who was tricked by the traitor Erebus, before he died by Lorgar's hands.

Primarchs Ferrus and Ferra Manus, who thinks their legions weak, because of the flesh on our bones. The flesh that makes us HUMAN!

Even Sanguinia and Sanguinius, who had just stood there and watched the city of Sylvania burn by the Legion's fiery destruction, and destroyed their home. These are the Leaders of our legions?! The people who we are supposed to obey without question?!

No. These are Traitors, cowards and Imbeciles. Every bit as worthless as the High Riders of Nuceria, who had turned Atlanta and Angron to shells of their former selfs. These incompetents learned NOTHING from Old Terran history. I owe this Imperium NO Loyalty.

Vorkyl Solari: (A Raven Guard who stumbled upon the fires of Khaenriah and saw the Heavenly principles curse it's people.)

(Dialogue of what he said when he betrayed the Imperium.)

Vorkyl Solari: I know you and Corva will not like this, Father. Do not follow me if you receive this message. I am sorry that I will not be able to join the others to witness the birth of our new sibling, but I cannot fight for this Imperium any longer.

I know I'm not proud of the choices I have made, but I did what was necessary. Aunt Kassandra knew what she saw and what I've done. And she wanted me to join this Rebellion. She and Konrad understood what I saw.

Even if you never will. But do not be upset. When it comes to it, I shall protect my sibling. Whatever the cost may be.

(So what do y'all think? Pretty neat, huh? I wanted to get each one's perspective of why they betrayed the Imperium.)
