After Infinite would go to Metropolis to fight in the battle there. he quickly turned the tides in Robotnik's favor until he ran into Gadget and Sapphire once more. Infinite recognized them as the frightened citizen who ran before and fought him. but to Infinite's surprise they were much more ready this time. He'd see that Gadget and Sapphire had a prototype ruby and that worried him. He'd live knowing that in a matter of hours he'd be defeated anyway.
He'd rejoined Robotnik once more. however they'd learn the the Prison Satellite was destroyed. Robotnik suggested to make a tactical retreat to mobilize his forces in Metropolis. Infinite objected to the idea, but joined anyway. At Metropolis they find Sonic and Robotnik told Infinite to open Null Space. there, both Sonic, and Gadget, who'd just arrived to save him where sucked into Null Space. Infinite and Robotnik would go to the staging ground of the Robotnik Fleet, but where interrupted by Sonic and the gadget would escaped from Null Space. Infinite watch as Robotnik threatened them as he and Infinite entered the fleet.
They returned to the Robotnik Empire fortress and noticed the Resistance closing in on the base. Robotnik would instruct infinite to create an army and fend them off for the time being. Infinite then create a Phantom Army to fight them. as he told him to prepare for oblivion Omega interrupted and attacked him. Infinite then shots the Phantom Ruby's energy into the sky and it creates a giant sun in hopes of crushing the resistance once and for all. however, using a ruby's prototype gadget stopped the sun and ruined Robotnik's plan. Infinite would later find and fight Sonic, Sapphire and Gadget. telling them it was useless to resist and he attacked. however, the Ruby was damaged in the fight and he began unstable. with a last burst of energy from the ruby he flew away. he'd make it to Metropolis where he'd manage to pull off the ruby and fall to the ground. soon after he'd hear about Robotnik's defeat at the hands of Sonic.
After the War.
After being used by Eggman and the war ended and Infinite laid defeated once more he came to the realization that the Phantom Ruby did nothing and he wasted his time. eventually he would come across another Ruby and only kept it as leverage. Then the Lynx Cat known as Sapphire found and pursued him. She she wanted to know the truth, since she thought he led his squad to their death, betrayed them to join Dr. Eggman.
That made Zero snap and attack her, even shouting her the truth in rage. Blaming himself for their deaths. Sapphire now knowing the truth offered him a place in the resistance and he took it. It took some times for people to accept him after the War, but in the end it worked. He and Sapphire went on many adventures to improve himself and he came to love her. after it all he felt like he finally had a place in the world.
But it wasnt long before the Followers have invaded and attacked Infinite and his newfound Family, as they were after the Chaos Emeralds. They aimed to destroy them so that their Master could not be harmed when he was released. The Sylvanians pursued them and attacked, helping the Mobians fight off the invaders. The Mobians joined in the War Effort, as Infinite was assigned to help the Red Reaper Guild.
Both Infinite and Sapphire were assigned to help Dante with his mission to stop Ozpin from giving Ruby to The Legion, and the Followers from taking her.
