The sharp winter air hit me as soon as the lecture hall doors opened. The shiver that runs through my body makes me wrap my arms around myself and pull everything in closer, as if to savour every last bit of warmth there is left. I'm regretting making the choice to sit so close to the door.

Why did I think that was a good idea again?

And why are the heaters not working?

When I looked up to see who walked in I half expected to see William, but since his brutal breakup earlier, he hadn't shown up to any of our classes today. He's probably crying in his room right now.

Instead, Arizona struts in head held high and dressed in a mini skirt, as if it's not snowing outside. One hundred percent, those stockings aren't helping much for the cold either.

I frown at her as she slides into the seat next to me, plopping down with a dramatic sigh.

"You are crazy for wearing that." I mutter turning back to my tablet to open my notes app.

"Beauty is pain.", she mutters with a half hearted shrug before pulling out a textbook.

"Oh I almost forgot to tell you!" She mutters slapping my arm lightly like she always does when she's excited and I, as always, make a dramatic show of it hurting.

It didn't.

"Ow." I mutter, grabbing my arm in pain and she rolls her eyes.

"Don't be a baby." She mutters. In response I stick my tongue out at her making her smile.

"Anyways did you hear William and that girl he was dating broke up?" she leaned in and whispered, not so quietly.

I gave her a side glance.

"Her name's Eleanor." I point out and she frowns.

"Whatever." She waved me off and pulled out her tablet.

"Apparently it was bad. Like, a full-on shouting match in the quads. Something about him not caring enough or not giving her enough attention."

I frowned. Wow, word really does travel fast-and really inaccurately. But I didn't bother correcting her, not wanting to explain why I know what really happened.

Instead I turn back to my work hoping she'd get the message and stop talking about it.

She didn't.

"I think it's good, if you ask me," she continued and I sighed, putting my pen down. Might as well let her finish talking; I wasn't going to focus if she kept yapping.

Noticing my attention, she straightened and smiled. Loving the fact that she can gossip freely now.

"I'm just saying, they're total opposites. Completely different worlds, you know?"
