Michael exhaled deeply as he stared out the window of his car. The sight in front of him was all too familiar and Michael couldn't help but sigh.

Before he could start over-thinking the situation he got out of the car and walked towards the elementary school.

Michael could feel the judgmental stares of the teachers as he walked down the hallway. He kicked the air as his boots hit the fancy marble floor, a few drops of dirt flew from the tip of his shoe and landed on the flawless floor. He bet someone would probably have a mental breakdown because of that tiny drop of dirt on their floor.

A pair of shining dress shoes appeared in Michael's vision. As he turned to the right, he looked up and came face to face with the headmaster himself.

"Mr. Clifford." He greeted Michael with a firm nod and directed him towards his office.

"Please make yourself comfortable." Mr. Smith held his arm out as a gesture for Michael to sit down even though Michael already knew the drill since he had done it all, maybe one too many times before.

"So, I guess you know why you're here, Mr. Clifford?" Michael nodded at the old man behind the ridiculously shiny desk. It was even shiner than the old man's head.

"I am truly concerned about Jaxon. This is the fourth time he's started a fight in the last two weeks." Mr. Smith shook his head in disapproval. Michael stared down at his hands, a feeling of failure washing over him.

"And I think I might've figured out what the problem is..." Shaking his bald head, he continued. "It might be the fact that your lacking of a mother figure outside of school, and that you haven't had a real guardian to raise your brother. He has never been taught right and wrong by the right people." Michael's head shot up, his green eyes met Mr. Smith's judgmental stare. Before he could stop himself, he exploded. His fist met the surface of the desk.

"You have absolutely no right to say something like that! I have spent the last couple of years raising Jaxon! On my own! I had to quit school and get a job so we could get a roof above our heads; I had to become a legal guardian as an 18 year old! I took my life savings so Jaxon could go to school and get an education, unlike me!"  Michael took a deep breathe trying to calm down. "I am raising an 11-year-old on my own, trying to give him the life he deserves; the life I didn't get to have. So do not come and tell me what I'm doing wrong. I apologize for not being a perfect 'parent' and I will talk to Jaxon but you will never tell me what I am doing right or wrong." Michael stood up from the comfortable chair and dusted off his jeans before looking up at the headmaster, taking in his shocked expression.

"Good day." He nodded firmly before turning around and leaving; slamming the door behind him.

Jaxon looked up in shock as he heard the door slam shut but he looked down at his lap again when he saw Michael walking towards him.

Michael walked right passed his younger brother not in the mood to deal with him. He just felt like banging his head through a mirror and hoping to end up somewhere else but he knew that it wouldn't actually solve any of his problems.

Michael inhaled deeply when he was met by the fresh outside air. He felt like he was boiling on the inside and like everything was at the brink of exploding. Everything was collapsing in front of his eyes and all he could do was watch. Before even thinking he punched the closest thing which happened to be a brick wall. Michael let out a scream and fell to the ground on his knees.

Tears filled his tired eyes when a small hand was placed on his shaking shoulder.

"I'm sorry" a faint voice said and Michael couldn't help but to let a sob out. "I didn't mean to, I promise." Jaxon sat down behind his brother and wrapped his tiny arms around Michael's fluffy body. "I didn't want to punch him but he was calling you mean names." Slowly Michael got up from the wet ground and pulled his brother with him.

"It's okay, it's not your fault." Jaxon threw his arms around his brother; feeling the need to make him feel better. Michael patted Jaxon's head, knowing that he couldn't have breakdowns in front of his brother. He had to be strong for the both of them.

"Let's go home buddy", Michael said comforting his brother
