Chapter 24: Earth's Mightiest Heroes

Start from the beginning

Wasp: a week.

Bobbi: a month.

Tony: have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I want to try it.

Wade: I'm actually very hungry.

Thor: we're not finished yet.

Tony: <knows what he means> and then shawarma after.

Tower

Loki dragged himself to the steps in so much pain as he felt something behind him as he looked behind him and saw the Avengers. From left to right was IronMan, IronLad, Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, Thor, Mockingbird, Black Widow, Ant-Man, and Wasp. Hawkeye aimed an arrow straight at Loki's face as Mockingbird held the Scepter.

Loki; if it's all the same to you... I'll have that drink now.

Amora handed him one as she was sitting next to him.

Central Park

The News were covering all of what happened at the Battle of New York. There were many losses but the people are happy that the Avengers came to their aid. Some people cut their hair and beards like Tony Stark, some got tattoos of the heroes, people were getting interviewed, some were wearing costumes of the heroes, art was made about them, graffiti was made to thank them, the world was thankful.

Stan: <screen> superheroes in New York? Give me a break.

The people didn't see Hulk as a monster anymore, they were calling him a Hero. The Mayor of New York told the press that the Avengers need to be held responsible for the destruction made in the city.

The Avengers met in a place in Central Park as Loki and Amora were cuffed with mouth silencers. Everyone but the Asgardians were in civilian clothing.

Fury was having a meeting with the council as in the news a waitress wanted to thank Captain America and the Wasp for saving her life. Another screen showed Captain Stacy of the NYPD thanking IronLad for saving his daughter and her best friend.

Councilman: <screen> where are the Avengers?

Fury: I'm not currently tracking their whereabouts. I'd say they've earned a leave of absence.

Councilwoman: <screen> and the Tesseract?

Selvig got a small device out as they placed the Tesseract inside.

Fury; the Tesseract is where it belongs. Out of our reach.

Councilman 2: <screen> that's not your call.

Fury: I didn't make it. I just didn't argue with the god that did.

Thor said goodbye to Selvig as Loki looked at Barton as Nat and Bobbi leaned to look behind his glasses as Barton smiled.

Councilman 2: <screen> so, you let him take it and the war criminals, Loki and Amora, who should be answering for their crimes.

Fury: oh, I think they will be.

Thor held one end of the device as Loki and Amora grabbed the other end. Thor nodded to his friends as he turned his side and the three of them were teleported away.

Councilwoman: <screen> I don't think you understand what you've started, letting the Avengers loose on this world.

Steve and Tony shook hands as Nat gave Bruce his bag as Janet was hugging Wade to her chest with him trying to escape as Hank chuckles and Bobbi giggles.

Councilwoman: <screen> they're dangerous.

Fury: they surely are, and the whole world knows it.

Tony, Bruce, and Wade rode together, Bobbi went with Clint and Nat, Wasp and Hank left together as well, and Steve went on his own.

Fury; every world knows it.

Councilman: <screen> was that the point of all this? A statement?

Fury: a promise.

Fury left and went to the bridge.

Hill: sir, how does it work now? They've gone their separate ways. Some, pretty extremely far. If we get into a situation like this again, what happens then?

Fury; they'll come back.

Hill: are you really sure about that?

Fury; I am.

Hill: why?

Fury; because we'll need them to.

Hill seemed satisfied with that answer as she returned to her post.

Tony, Wade, and Pepper started looking at blueprints for the renovation of the tower as the camera pans out as the only letter of STARK that survived was the letter A.

Space

The Other: Humans. They are not the cowering wretches we were promised. They stand. They are until, and therefore cannot be ruled.

A figure stood up from his throne.

The Other: to challenge them is to court death.

The figure turned as his purple face with gold armor, smiled.

Hammer Industries

Justin Hammer walked through his factory as he just bailed himself out of prison.

Justin: great. Ironman and IronLad are hailed as heroes with these so called Avengers. <kicks some stuff down> can't there anything be done to crush them?!

???: there might be.

Justin: <looks around> who said that?

???: I'm no enemy of yours Hammer. I'm here to help you.

Justin: well my last help betrayed me-

???: that was due to your ego, arrogance, and desperation to be better than Tony Stark. You didn't even think. So I offer you this...

The light shines on an armor that was grey in color with lots of green glowing on it.

Justin: is that? No way.

???: this armor is not powered by an Arc Reactor, it's a different source.

Justin: I don't know what to say.

???: to destroy Ironman and IronLad, you must align yourself with others that share the same goal.

Justin; like who?

???: Advanced Idea Mechanics will be a good place to start. The success of the goal will need both of you to be in the same page. Don't disappoint me, Hammer.

Justin: <looks at the armor> there is IronMan and IronLad, what is a material stronger than Iron? Oh right... Titanium. And that's what it should be... Titanium Man.
