Chapter 6: The Trials

Court No POV

Judge: the court will hear the case of Carla Rose against Tony Stark over the custody of Wade Stark.

Tony was sitting on the right table with Carla, a woman in her 40's with a lot of make up as if she was hiding a lot... unhealthy skin as she was wearing a woman suit that showed off leg.

Lawyer: your honor, my client, Carla Rose, gave birth to Wade Stark 14 years ago and Mr Stark has not payed a single cent of child support as she has taken care of him for 8 years. Fed him, bathe him, dressed him. Now that Mr Stark has declared himself to be IronMan, he has painted a bullseye for terrorists like the Ten Rings who Mr Stark was kidnapped by for a period of time.

Court: what does the defense have to say?

Murdock; Your honor, while the prosecution does provide some good points against Mr Stark. My client believes that Wade will be safer as there is no where safer than with the man who wields the armor that no tank could take down. But, we have evidence on Ms Rose's home and criminal record. Your honor, ladies and gentlemen, please direct your attention to the screens shown.

Tony played several videos of Carla making illegal drug deals, doing prostitution and some videos of her abusing Wade in the back of an alley as there was even pictures of her deeds against Wade as Tony had to look away.

Judge: that's enough.

Tony stopped the videos.

Murdock: one last thing. <grabs Carla's old letter> this letter here, signed by Ms Rose's own hand dictates that she didn't want Wade in her life and called him, and I quote, "waste of space."

Judge: thank you, Mr Murdock. We will take a recess to discuss the verdict.

Tony and Matt Murdock went to the room Wade was waiting at as Tony let Murdock in first and closed the door as they both sat down. Tony put an arm around Wade's shoulder and held him close.

Tony: everything will be okay, kiddo.

Wade: I just don't want to be back with her. It was a nightmare.

Murdock: with all the evidence you presented, I'm confident you will win the case as you have also uncovered a lot of criminal evidence on her to never have custody over Wade ever.

They stayed there for a few minutes as they went back.

Judge: now the verdict.

Jury man: your honor, we have decided that Tony Stark should get custody over Wade Stark.

Tony was so happy as Pepper and Happy were also happy in the audience as Carla looked shocked.

Judge: Ms Rose, we aren't done with you.

The guards grabbed her and cuffed her.

Judge: you will be placed in a holding cell and waiting for trial over your many crimes.

Carla: you can't do this to me! I'm an entitled woman! Let me go!

The guards took Carla away as Tony shook hands with Matt as Wade was let in as he saw Tony happy and he put two and two together as he ran to him and hugged him.

Wade: you won.

Tony: yes I did, kiddo. I told you everything was going to be fine. How about we go get some cheeseburgers?

Wade: I like that. And chicken nuggets.

Tony: cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets it is!

Wade held Tony's hand and Tony held it tightly as Pepper and Happy followed as many reporters wanted to speak with them but it was straight to the car and off to celebrate.
