Chapter 23: The Push

Cap: son, just don't.

Bridge

Fury was shuffling the trading cards as Hill walked up to him.

Hill: sir.

Fury; Agent Hill.

Hill; those cards... they were in Coulson's locker, not in his jacket.

Fury; they needed the push.

Hill didn't understand until Iron Man and Iron Lad flew out with a Quinjet behind them.

Agent: <PA> we have an unauthorized departure from Bay 6.

Fury: they found them. Get our communications back up, whatever you have to do. I want eyes on everything.

Hill; yes, sir.

New York City

Iron Man and Iron Lad flew towards Stark Tower as their rocket boosters were kind of failing but they still flew well in order to reach the top of the tower as the machine was starting to turn on.

Jarvis; sir, I've turned off the Arc Reactor but the device is already self-sustaining.

Ironman: shut it down, Dr Selvig.

Selvig; it's too late! She can't stop now. She wants to show us something! A new universe.

Ironman: okay.

Ironman and IronLad fired at the device but both shots got sent back to them as Selvig was knocked away and out as Ironman and IronLad regained their balance.

Jocasta: the barrier is pure energy. It's unbreachable.

IronLad: we noticed, thank you.

They both look down and see Loki and Amora looking up at them.

Ironman: Plan B.

Jarvis; sir, the Mark 7 is not ready for deployment.

Ironman: then skip the spinning rims. We're on the clock.

IronLad: Jocasta, prep my spare suit as well.

Jocasta: yes, boss.

Ironman landed on his platform as he started walking inside while the armor was being taken off him as IronLad also landed and the same thing happened to him as Loki and Amora walked inside as well.

Loki; please tell me you're going to appeal to our humanity.

Tony: actually, we're planning to threaten you.

Loki: you should have left your armors on for that.

Wade: true. They've seen a bit of mileage, and you've got the glow stick of destiny and her magic tricks.

Tony: would you like a drink?

Loki: stalling me won't change anything.

Tony; no, no. Threatening. No drink? Are you sure? Is she allowed to drink?

Amora: I don't drink.

Tony: not even soda? How sad. I'm having one.

Loki; the Chitauri are coming. Nothing will change that. What have we got to fear?
