— Elara will take the room next to Saika's, alright ? Lenny announces. I nod, it's not like I have much of a choice anyway.

Ivy then stands up, coming up to me, and, to my surprise, taking my hand.
— I'll show you around and give you some spare clothes for tonight, okay ? And I'll guide you to the bathroom so you can shower. You're definitely gonna end up sick if you stay wet like that.

My eyes widen, not ready for such a reaction from her. I can't help but slip in a smile and thank her as she drags me away from the rest.

Her hand in mine feels warm. It's nice. She's nice. My smile widens unconsciously as we get upstairs while she tells me more about here :
— Don't mind them all. We're all a bit... special to say the least. Oh and Zach is like that. He doesn't do well with "new" and "people" in general. But don't worry, he'll come around.
— Okay... He's friends with you ?
— We're kinda like chaotic siblings but he'd never admit that. Though, he has his way of showing he cares. Somehow.

I nod, taking a mental note of that.
— He's not fond of giving out infos about him ?
— Boy has trust issues, don't blame him !

That response makes me raise an eyebrow, nodding nonetheless.
She then points at a door :
— So here's your room, and here's Saika's. Don't worry, over the time, you'll progressively make it more your own, and you'll get to personalize it however you like.

I nod once more and step in, my eyes roaming all around the neat and tidy beige looking room. It is clean and has a nice citrusy smell overall.

— Okay, so here's some sweatpants and hoodie for you to wear for tonight. I guess you'll be getting your stuff tomorrow to completely move in.

She then points out of the room and adds :
— Bathroom is down the hall. Take a shower, get comfortable and join us downstairs, okay ?
— ...Okay !

After Ivy leaves, I look at the clothes in my hands, and then at the room, taking in everything that's happening right now. Then, after taking a deep breath, I get in the bathroom, undress, and start showering.

The hot water touches my skin and relaxes me pretty quickly as the reality of the day hits me.
Damn...in the span of a day, I got dumped, watched some old lady get run over after being the last person she saw and talked to, joined some weird random group of odd teens with specialities...

Quickly, the innocent little thoughts turn into more serious overthinking and spiraling—grief, guilt and a ton of questions keep striking.

But the most important one remains...
What the hell did I just get myself into ?
