"I don't get why the hell you want to go see this movie so damn bad," Bakugo grumbles.
You smiled as you walked with your boyfriend through the busy streets of the city, the sounds of rushing cars and surrounding murmurs of conversations filling the atmosphere. The Saturday rush hour was reaching its peak, with people trying to get home from work or enjoy their weekend exploring or traveling. That was the city life in your home district: busy, but at least it wasn't Tokyo right?
"I promise it'll be really good! Everyone online said it's the best animated film of the year," you explain excitedly. It was very rare Bakugo ever agreed to your ideas, he always just said they were boring or stupid, but finally you got him to come with you to see a movie. Sure you had to pay for his ticket and stuff, but you didn't mind. This moment felt like a date and that's all your cheerful mind could think about. You were finally going on a date with your first ever boyfriend! You just couldn't help the strong pep in your step as you led him.
"Quit being in such a rush. Your dumbass is gonna get hit by a car," Bakugo scolded you, his hands shoved in his pockets.
"I just don't wanna miss it, is all," you say as you look over your shoulder at him with a smile, to which he just rolled his eyes.
"We aren't gonna miss anything, you had us leave half an hour before the damn thing even starts," he says.
"You never know with foot traffic," you chuckle as you look at him, still walking ahead of him past passerbys and large herds of busy people traveling on the sidewalks. You were just happy to get to spend time with him outside of school or at his house. You two could finally do couple things! Although if you told him any of that, Bakugo would be furious and call off the date right here, but it was a date in your mind and you were happy with that.
You turn around and start walking backwards, smiling as you look at him, "one of my most favorite voice actors is in it! She's been talking about the movie for years and how good it's going to be."
Bakugo made an unamused face, "would you quit overhyping it? You're gonna overload my expectations with bullshit if you keep this up."
"You're right sorry," you laugh softly, still walking backwards, "I just...I'm really glad you agreed to come with me. It means a lot to me."
Bakugo scoffed, looking away but you could see the faint blush on his cheeks. Your heart jumped, seeing an emotion on his face that for once wasn't irritation. You kept walking, hearing the rushed sounds of cars speeding by as you got closer, however your mind wasn't focused on that. "Maybe we can go out like this more often," you say encouraging him, "maybe next time we can see a movie you wanna-"
"Oi y/n watch out!"
You hadn't realized you stepped too far into the street crosswalk behind you, stepping in the line of travel of a speeding car. Your eyes barely caught sight of it in time before Bakugo quickly grabbed your wrist and pulled you back towards him. You were frozen in shock as you heard the car whizz past you both, Bakugo keeping one firm hand holding your wrist and the other shielding the back of your head as he held you close to him. His hold was so...protective. You didn't even realize the moment barely lasted a second before he pulled away and looked at you, his eyes wide with anger and, much more than that, worry.
"The hell are you doing walking backwards like that into oncoming traffic, you idiot?!" he says with a raised upset voice. You normally would've shrunk at the intimidating tone in his words but right now you were just marvelling at how concerned he looked. Like he was actually worried you could've gotten hurt.
"I...s-sorry I didn't realize..." you say stunned, still processing the reality that you nearly got hit by a car. Plus, you couldn't tear your eyes off of him and how worried he seemed. It was new...
