(Chapter 3) We Need To Talk

"Bakugo, that was amazing!" You clapped with an astonished expression as you sat on the edge of his bed.

Bakugo exhaled, putting his drumsticks in the grooves of the drumstick holder on his drum kick. You knew Bakugo was talented in nearly everything he did but even you were surprised how quick he could play intermediate songs at his level. "It's nothing to get excited over. I keep blanking on the rhythm during the damn guitar solo, it's annoying as hell," He wipes the line of sweat along his forehead, his firm eyes softer than usual today. You liked how he acted when it was just you two, calm and steady.

You smile more and lean over, your arms propped up on your knees as you look at him, "well I thought it sounded great."

He scoffs with a smirk, "yeah, you think everything I do is great." His sarcastic tone didn't go by unnoticed by you, your eyes looking away a little embarrassed. He saw you look away and softened his expression as he averted his eyes, "I like that though. Makes for a good motivator."

His words make your heart flutter and your lips curl back into a smile, "well good. I'll motivate you as much as you like."

He huffs a smirk again, rolling his eyes and standing up from his stool and walking over to you. He fell back on his bed, closing his eyes as he rested his arms behind his head, "whatever dumbass..." he mutters.

You smile more, leaning back as well until you're both laying down on the bed, your eyes staring up at the ceiling, "thanks for inviting me over by the way. It was cool getting to meet your mom and dad for the first time."

Bakugo huffs again, his expression growing more grumpy, "the old hag wouldn't stop getting on my case about bringing my damn partner over. It was pissing me off."

You giggle, shifting to your side to look at him, "well she seems really nice."

"Don't let her fool you. She's a pain in the ass," Bakugo grumbles.

You watch him for a moment, just studying his features. You couldn't believe how lucky you got, having Katsuki Bakugo ask you out to be your boyfriend. The strongest, smartest guy in your class, a super incredible quirk that everyone admired. He was even planning on going to the prestigious UA when you both graduated middle school. He really was amazing, you were blessed just to have his attention.

His eyes opened to side glance at you, "you're staring."

You snap out of your thoughts, an embarrassed blush coming to your cheeks as you quickly look away, "s-sorry! I didn't mean to. You just look so peaceful."

He scoffs again, rolling his eyes, "you're a dumbass." There's a small awkward silence between you both as you look away, shifting to lay on your back again, then you suddenly feel his arm wrap around your waist and tug you close to his side. Your heart leapt in your chest, your face growing more pink as you felt his body warmth against yours, then his voice dropped to a soft quiet murmur, "but you're my dumbass."

A warm smile spreads to your blushing cheeks as you relish the feeling of his arm wrapped around you. You wished this moment could last forever, that it could be engraved in your memories. You stayed still, closing your eyes and hoping if you don't move he'll let this moment last a little longer...

Present Time...

You helped Izuku finish the last of the cleaning as his other classmates did their part too. Even with the class' numbers, cleaning up for a concert this extravagant took much longer than most low attention span teenagers can handle. You let the idea of talking to Bakugo simmer in your mind some more. Maybe it wouldn't be the worst thing to just let him talk. Maybe he really had changed into a better person. As much as you wanted to believe that, your mind knew better than to trust the same heart that foolishly fell in love with Bakugo in the first place. He hurt you, he treated you horribly, why would you even think of giving him another chance? Your mind was scrambled, you were close to just chickening out entirely and going home. However the longer you hung out with Izuku and talked to him, the more curious you became.
