Today was another one of those days. Those days where the voices overlapped so much,criss-crossing with each other that everything became an indistinguishable mess of noise.Voices was shouting at me, all bouncing around my skull. My head felt like it was full of lead and I could barely hear myself think under all the noise.
Around me people are scrambling to take down notes as the lecturer rattles off the notes like he was a rapper hurrying to the last verse, while I'm scrunching my eyes shut, drowning silently in the noise. My head pounds as I painstakingly force my eyes to open and take a deep breath.
Just concentrate Ed,I repeated to myself silently before desperately trying to narrow down to a singular voice.I'm now staring at the lecturer with squinted eyes, trying to focus on her voice and her voice alone just so that everything else would just blur out.I try,I'm trying so hard just to make it all stop but it is not working and I'm staring at her so intensely that I practically feels my eyes bulging out but it doesn't work. The mess of thoughts are still as loud as ever and my headache was rapidly shooting up by the second.I couldn't take this anymore.
Quickly sliding all my stuff into my bag, I zipped my bag shut before getting up.My classmates stare at me as I simply stalk out through the back entrance of the lecture theatre.I ignore them as I hurry away from the block of lecture theatres,to somewhere where there would be hopefully no one around to bombard me with thoughts.I end up under the staircase in a secluded part of the school where I slump down in a dishevelled heap on the ground.I was sure it hadn't been cleaned in god knows how long and I could already feel the dust seeping into my pants but I don't care because finally the voices are gone.I rest my head into my hands.Peace and quiet.Just the way I like it.
I stayed there for a good amount of time, soaking in the silence of my own thoughts, feeling the headache throb less erratically now before I heard the bell ring which meant that everyone was dismissed. It was break now.I don't want to move, and I really wasn't in the mood to see Collin so I stay there, hoping no one comes by here to disrupt my precious peace.
Unfortunately within 5 minutes of me even thinking that, I hear footsteps on the staircase above me and hushed voices chatting above.
"Are you really sure this is a good idea ?"I hear an anxious voice murmur.
I really don't want to do this.
"Don't worry about it. Come on,let's go before someone comes by."Another voice urges as the pair of them reach the bottom of the stairs.
That brat will never see it coming.
I gritted my teeth as I recognised the voice. It was that boy that kept tormenting Collin. And by the looks of it,they had something planned for him.Hiding under the staircase, they thankfully didn't see me staring at them with a narrowed gaze and instead continued along the corridor.
What on earth were they doing?
Standing up and peeking out from behind the staircase, they twisted the door of a room and walked inside.I squinted as I tried to make out the words on the sign.
Art room? Why would they go to the art room?
Groaning, I sat back down onto the ground as I continued eavesdropping on the two boys' minds.
Why are there so many art pieces here? Now I can't tell which one is his!
I really don't feel good about this.
Damn it, here is that stupid art piece.
This is what you get when you mess with the wrong person.
