Percy POV:
As soon as I arrived at the palace of Chaos, I knew my life had just gotten a lot more complicated and interesting. First off, the way it was made already told you it was made for a being as powerful as Chaos.
The walls were made out of some kind of material like metal, but it was cut into swirls and curves like the Galaxy. I looked around, amazed. Annabeth would love this.
Just then I felt a pang inside my chest. No, Annabeth was gone. She ditched me for that stupid asshole Nick Water. I shook myself, trying to come back to the reality. That already happened. I reminded myself. I didn't have to go back there. I could start over, with no Annabeth.
I looked around. There was a big throne made out of swirling black metal in the back of the room. Besides it, there was a slightly smaller throne made out of what looked like clouds. They looked like clouds you might see during a sunny summer day.
The throne on the other side of the black one caught my attention. It was the color of river stones, studded with small white rocks that looked like shells. The weirdest thing about it was the small waterfall that ran down the side. There was a soft cushion on the throne, and it looked like it had extra stuffing.
Sitting on the white throne was a beautiful woman with feathery white wings and dark green eyes. She wore a simple white dress, but it shimmered like oil over water, hidden colors in the fabric.
Chaos walked over to the black throne and sat down. As soon as he did, it shone. Different shades of blues and greens appeared on the metal, like it was alive.
When he spoke, the room shook like his voice was thunder. "Perseus Jackson, I have seeked you out because I saw potential in you. I have come to a decision. Would you like to join my army and become the commander of the forces that maintain peace in the galaxy?" His voice was firm, like he wasn't joking and was about to shout, Just kidding! You can go back to your normal life now, without any weird experiences or being asked to become one of the most powerful beings in the universe!
For a second, I stood still. Did he actually mean it? On one hand, this could mean I didn't have to go back to earth. On the other hand, did I actually trust this guy? I looked around. Did this mean I could have a normal life?
Finally, I had my decision. "I will join, but only under three conditions." I said, my voice rough and rasping because of not having spoken for over three weeks. I kept going, my voice stronger than before. "One, I don't ever have to return to that place. Two, I want to recruit my friends that have passed on to join the army with me. And three, I want for the rest of Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter to never know what happened to me. I don't want to be forgotten, but I want them to know how this happened to me, and that they made this happen."
Chaos looked shocked for a moment at my statement before sighing. He snapped his fingers. The sound echoed across the room. "Done. The campers remember you, but now I have sent them a signal along with your sword, Riptide. They won't remember who you are unless you show them you face." Chaos's voice was hollow with an emotion I couldn't quite place; it could have been either grief or depression, like he also felt the effects of his own magic.
Just then, the woman that had been sitting quietly on her throne this whole time spoke up. "Hello, Perseus Jackson-" I flinched when she said my whole name, "-I am Order, wife of Chaos. My husband and I are ready to give you your powers and name as the new Commander of Chaos. Are you ready?" I nodded mutely, not trusting myself to say the words ou loud.
Oder turned to Chaos. He stood up straight, then pointed a finger at me. "I need you to pledge yourself to me, and to protect the galaxy from my brothers, End and Destruction. I need you to pledge yourself to protect peace itself." As if by magic, words appeared in my mouth. "I, Perseus Jackson, Son of Greece, pledge myself to Chaos and to protect peace with my life, to protect all living beings in all the planets, and to fight End and Destruction until they have faded to no more. I accept the position of The Commander of Chaos and lead the armies of the Void against all possible threats to peace." As soon as the last word was out of my lips, I felt a horrible pain in my back.
Chaos's voice boomed across the room. "Perseus Jackson, your name from now on shall be Commander Creation, symbolizing the peace that will follow you along with the army of the Void as you protect the galaxy."
I heard a gasp come from the direction of where Chaos and Order were, but at that moment I was a little busy trying not to pass out. When the pain faded to a dull throb, I immediately snapped my head around. What I saw made me sick.
My back was a mess of blood, loose skin, and feathers. Why feathers, you ask? Well, let me explain. What had just happened was that enormous silver wings Had just sprouted from my back, breaking the skin and causing blood to gather around my shoulders and start to drip down my back. The wings had a wingspan of around two meters, and were made entirely of silver feather.
Just then, I heard a small whisper come from behind me. "That's not possible. Destruction took him." I turned around to see Chaos and Order staring at me like I was some kind of experiment. "What do you mean?" I asked anxiously, feeling dread start to climb up my spine. My wings twitched. I tucked them in close to my back.
Chaos turned to Order, a slight frown crossing his perfect brow. "We will talk about his further in the morning. Now, my servant will guide you to your chambers. You must be tired." He waved his hand, and there was a rush of wind as dryad servants came into the throne room.
They bowed, one of them with small spikes all across her body and the other with spikes coming out of her head. They were both dressed in simple Ancient Greek white chitons, with gold armbands delicately wrapped around their upper arms. They bowed bofore me.
"Commander Creation, we will now take you to your chambers, sir." The one on the left spoke softly. They stood up and each took one of my arms. They began walking down the long hallway that lead out of the throne room. Behind me, I could hear the worried voices of Chaos and Order as they faded into the background noises of the bustling palace.
Done with the second chapter! This is coming along nicely. Comment if you like it, and if you want me to add any specific ships!
