Tianni, a dedicated ER nurse who thrives in chaos, and Treyvon or as the streets know him as "Ghost", a feared gangster with a reputation that keeps most people at a distance.
When Ghost is rushed into her hospital one night with a gunshot wound, T...
"Damn. You grimy as hell. You was comin' home to me after that shit? Laying up next to me, actin' like you was loyal?"
"I didn't plan it," she cried.
"It just—after the first time... it was like something broke in me. Tay was there. You was gone, you was always in the streets—"
"Don't blame me for yo ass choosin to be a hoe!" he roared, eyes wild.
"You could've left me! You ain't have to smile in my face while suckin' my brother dick behind my back."
She flinched like he hit her.
But Ghost wasn't done.
"You know what's crazy? If you told me that shit back then... that shit woulda killed me. Deadass. 'Cause I loved you, Mika. I woulda went to war for you. Died for you."
Silence.
"But now?" He shook his head, smirking bitterly.
"Now you just a bad decision I keep tryna fuckin erase."
Tears finally slid down her cheeks.
He stepped back.
"You said Treasure might not even be mine. That shit alone was evil. But you bein' with Tay? That's betrayal on a whole 'nother level. And if she is his... you best believe I'ma still fight for her. 'Cause unlike you, I don't abandon what I love."
Mika sniffed, wiping her face with trembling fingers.
"She called you daddy before she even knew what that meant," she whispered.
"That's why I didn't tell you. I thought maybe... maybe it didn't matter who—"
"Everything fuckin' matters, Mika."
She nodded slowly.
He stared at her for a long moment, then turned to walk out.
"Mika," he said at the door without looking back, "you dead to me now."
He left her standing there in the quiet, tears soaking her robe, hands clutching her stomach like he'd gutted her with truth.

The engine hummed low as he drove, but Ghost barely heard it.
His mind was loud.
Too loud.
Mika's words kept echoing in his head like a hollow beat with no rhythm.
"It just happened... four times... I didn't plan it."
Yeah, okay.
Four fucking times with Tayvon.
His big brother.
His blood.
Ghost pulled off the road and parked crooked in the gravel at the edge of the cemetery.
The sun was already dipping, casting long shadows across rows of headstones.
