Tom could feel the weight on Isadora’s shoulders before she even spoke. They were lying on a hammock under the stars at the private resort, the crickets humming like background music to the silence between them.
> “Nina has leukemia,” she finally whispered.
He didn’t say anything at first. Just turned toward her, his fingers tracing slow, soothing circles on her back.
> “She told me last night. She found out two days ago… and she was so scared to ruin the trip.”
Tom leaned in and kissed her temple softly.
> “She doesn’t have to go through this alone.”
> “I know. And neither do I.”
The next morning, Isadora told her bandmates. Phantom Youth went silent. No gasps. No drama. Just a heavy pause, then one by one, they all got up and hugged Nina without a single word. Sometimes grief doesn’t need noise — just love.
Bill overheard, and within an hour, the members of Tokio Hotel knew too.
By noon, plans were quietly set into motion.
That night, the resort garden was lit up with string lights and candles. A small table with a handwritten sign read:
“For Our Star Girl — Nina 💫”
There was live music. Not from a stage, but from Tom and Bill playing acoustic versions of their favorite songs. Isadora sang a soft, stripped-down version of Once Upon A December just for Nina — her voice shaking with emotion, but still beautiful.
> “You guys didn’t have to do this,” Nina whispered, tears in her eyes.
> “Yeah,” Tom said, offering her a small smile. “We kinda did.”
They danced barefoot in the grass. No fans. No interviews. No cameras. Just a moment for the people behind the spotlight.
Just a moment of hope.
