Heavenlee couldn't sleep, she paced back and forth in the dark room. She reached into her pocket. She felt something soft in there, she held onto it tightly and pulled the mysterious item from her pocket. She ran over and flicked on the lights, which illuminated her room so that she could see what she had in her hand.
Heavenlee uncurled her fingers and saw an ocean blue thread in the middle of her palm. It glimmered, and Heavenlee thought she could see it move slowly, like the waves of the sea. It looked to be around 7 inches long.
Heavenlee whispered to herself "Ocean blue thread, belonging to one stuck in their bed" She closed her hand around the thread and placed it into the black jewelry case. She breathed a bit heavier. Heavenlee shook her head, but the prophecy was all that was on her mind.
Heavenlee collapsed on her bed, she stared at the ceiling. She wasn't sure if she would be able to sleep. She was scared of what the prophecy implied. She sat up. She needed to talk to the Shepherd of Lord Apollo.
Heavenlee pulled herself out of bed and put on her black tennis shoes. She pushed the velcro over her feet. Heavenlee smiled a little bit. She remembered how she always struggled with tying her shoes and keeping them tied. So David made sure to get her velcro shoes. Heavenlee stood up and turned off her lights. She slipped out of the house and walked over to the woods where the Shepherd of Lord Apollo taught his classes.
As she had hoped, the Shepherd of Lord Apollo was standing there, with the sheep by the trees. His lantern illuminated his face, a nearby fire illuminated the yellow boots on his feet. Heavenlee walked over and stopped a few feet in front of him "Shepherd of Lord Apollo?" She asked.
The man turned to look over at her. His soft-looking, golden vest flattered in the gentle breeze that existed in the darkness. he hummed "Little Lamb, Did you come to talk about the prophecy my lord bestowed upon you last week?" He asked.
Heavenlee nodded. "yeah, is there any insight I can get on that? I don't know what to do." she asked "Where do I go to try and find what happened when Sky disappeared." She pleaded "you saw us at the island, and we were barely any wiser on what happened in the aftermath." The Shepherd of Lord Apollo tilted his head and hummed.
"I can't tell you anything from the gods above, but I can tell you from my own knowledge." he said "when I can't find what I'm missing, I look at the end point and back track."
Heavenlee hummed "can I also ask you some questions- about being a proxy?" She asked. The Shepherd of Apollo nodded. "And about you?" She added.
"I'll answer anything you want about being a proxy, I have been one for the past 27 years." The Shepherd of Apollo stated "Though on telling you things about me, that's a different thing. You can ask, but I might not answer."
Heavenlee nodded "okay, That makes sense." She said "does everyone have something like this?" She asked. Heavenlee moved her hair then turned around to show the Shepherd of Lord Apollo the symbol on the back of her neck, a jeweled skull.
"As far as I know, yes. It is a way for each of us to be summoned by our lords and ladies. Mine sits on my chest, under my shirt. It is a lyre for my god."
"okay- and how exactly do they work?" she asked
"From what I can understand, the gods can put their essence through the marking, burning a bit of our soul. It would probably destroy a demigod in an instant. It just burns us since we are the children of the titans, and frankly the gods are careful to not entirely burn our souls away, That wouldn't be ideal for them." The Shepherd of Lord Apollo said. "Any other questions. Also, would you like some tea, little lamb?"
"I think tea would be nice, sir." Heavenlee said "and I have a lot more questions-"
The Shepherd of Lord Apollo nodded and took a teapot off the nearby fire. He got onto his knees. Heavenlee copied him, sitting on her knees and spreading her dress out a bit. "Go ahead and ask your questions, little lamb." the Shepherd of Lord Apollo said. He opened a picnic basket that was sitting next to him and took out two cups. He poured tea into them both. Then handed one to Heavenlee. "Do you want any sugar? I'd offer honey but it doesn't taste good with this kind of tea blend." he stated.
