Chapter 26- Captured

When Heavenlee woke up, she was actually in a well lit area "What- where are we?" She mumbled.

"Miles captured us, said we knew too much of the truth." Avery stated. Heavenlee looked over. Avery was tossing rocks at the bars of the cage with a distant look on their face. "I'm scared" He admitted. a purple cape that was tied onto their shoulders

"How long was I out?" Heavenlee asked. "I hope it wasn't too long, I don't want to miss Karlee's performance. Also, where'd that cape come from?"

"By my count, it's been a few days- I don't know how long out there, and for the cape- Miles put one on each of us, apparently Kronos enchanted these to survive Tartarus without having to try. He had put one on you as soon as you went down, you were already starting to fade from existence." Heavenlee noticed the gold that was glittering behind her "Is this his cape?" She asked.

"At first it was, but then he switched it for a similar one." Avery stated. "I've already tried to break the bars already, but they're stronger than the ones last semester." Avery crossed their legs and planted their face in their hands.

"Well, maybe we shouldn't use force but wi-" Heavenlee closed her mouth as Miles walked over.

"look- I don't really want to keep you two in here. But I can't have the cycle happen again. If you two stay in here, the hero doesn't exist and we'll win" Miles said calmly.

"So you're going to undo what you spent almost a decade doing? We sealed Kronos and now you want to unseal him- why?"

"Because I've realized that the gods will never change their ways. This is the only way I can protect those I care for. We've had no other choice." Miles stated.

"Who is this we? All I see is you leading a bunch of traitors and idiots to death." Heavenlee stated. 

"We is us, I told you not to come back, it wasn't time yet." A second voice said. The voice was masculine and deep in a way that reminded Heavenlee of the guys in romcom movies that Karlee would constantly call hot. It sounded a lot similar to Avery's voice too, except while Avery's was light and made her think of a song about fireflies, this voice was deeper, like it belonged in a hard rock song, and it had a dark undertone to it.

Then she saw who the voice belonged too. It was a male that Heavenlee recognized way too easily from Avery's laptop. They had the same thin lips and the same shade of Purple hair, While Avery's hair was cut into a slanted bob that ended at their shoulders on the long end, the new guy's hair was long and tied into a rat tail that went down to his back.

"Deme? Why are you here?" Avery asked "Why didn't you tell me that you're alive? I'm your brother!" Heavenlee could see that tears threatened to spill out of Avery's eyes.

"I couldn't until last year. We were stuck on Calypso's island. But, in the past year, well, I still couldn't because we've been hiding from the gods. You think Zeus or Titans- my ward father would be any bit happy that I'm still alive? When they wanted me to be killed by Scar Wittaker, Zeus' Proxy?"

"But we had a plan-" Avery whispered "We were going to fix this all." Avery fell to their knees and punched the bottom of the cage.

"You think that would ever work. Avy, the gods would never listen to us, no matter what we do, we're always to dangerous to let free. They want to use us and the only way to use us is fear," Miles stated. "I'm going to save everyone and those that hunt us, they will feel our fear; we'll hunt them and their siblings as they once hunted us like lambs for a slaughter."

"uhm- sorry to interrupt what is clearly you saying your evil plans- but why is he shirtless?" Heavenlee asked, that was one of the first things she noticed about Demetrius' clothes. "It's actually kind of cold so I'm a bit concerned about the fact that he's shirtless right now."
