Mom was already in the kitchen when I got home.
I placed a light kiss on her cheek when I entered the kitchen.
"Hey mom."
"Hey honey." she kissed me back. "Who was that?" She looked through the kitchen window.

"Allen."
I placed my hand on her shoulder and pulled her hair behind her ear.
"The guy from the other day, remember?"
"Uhuh?" She rolled her eyes. "I guess he is the reason you asked me to stop picking you up after school."
"Mom!"
"Am I correct?"
"Of course not! How can you think like that. He is a friend."
"It was just a guess. You needn't be offended. He's good looking if you'd ask me"
"Well I'm not I just want to make things clear to you."
"Yes baby. I got it" She smiled. "Go change and help me with dinner please."
"I'll be back shortly." I turned to leave but Tessa crossed my mind. "Mom you never mentioned Tessa was coming home this weekend." "Oh yes baby, I'm sorry it escaped my mind. How did you find out anyway?"
"She sent me a mail today saying she couldn't wait to be back home."
"She did that?" She smiled again."
My girl is growing already. I miss her."

"You want her home?"
"Why not? Of course yes! She is also my child."

"Is she coming with Dad?"
"No. She's coming alone."
"Mom! She's only four! How can..."
"Relax honey. She'll be alright."
"Its still not right."
"You don't want her home in the first place forgotten?"
"I doesn't mean I don't love her. She's my only sister."
"She'll be fine."
"If you say so. But know I'm not going to let her interfere with my stuff like she used to!"
I walked straight to my room, locked the door and threw myself on my bed.

I lay there for a few minutes and before I knew it I had fallen asleep.
