(Chapter 4) How Do I Fix This?

Start from the beginning

"Mango soda? Really?" I say with a deadpan look.

You laugh softly, cracking open the drink, "What? I love this flavor! I can never find it in stores sometimes..."

I scoff, rolling my eyes. I then noticed you didn't bring anything to eat for yourself, "you didn't get anything to eat?" I question, looking at you.

"Oh uh...just wasn't hungry I guess..." you gave a half laugh, looking down.

I clicked my tongue in annoyance, moving back to unwrap my onigiri packet. Once I freed them both from the plastic enclosure, I separated one from the other and handed it to you. Your eyes widened slightly at my offer. "Hurry up and take it before I change my mind," I say with a gruff, blunt tone.

I feel your hand take the food, your fingers brushing over mine. "Thanks..." you say quietly.

"Next time bring your own food, you idiot."

Present Time...

Damnit...just damnit.

I sat on the edge of my bed, my right leg bouncing anxiously as I looked at the contact number in my phone. I got your number but now what? Do I just call you and give my whole speech all over again? Tell you "hey so sorry about being a manipulative, condescending, gaslighting asshole to you our whole relationship. Let's make up?" There'd be no point in that...Maybe I could ask you on a date or-

No. Date was a bad idea.

I ran a frustrated hand over my face, grumbling to myself. Why the hell did I have to go and mix myself in this all over again? Clearly you didn't want me to, you were clear you just wanted to forget me and move on, but damnit I couldn't bring myself to. The way you glared at me, those cold icy stares that were like looking into a reflection of my past self. God, I was such a dick to you...so how do I fix this?!

I tossed my phone on the bed, falling back with a loud sigh, staring up at the ceiling. I'm not good with this damn sentimental shit. It's bad enough I gotta figure out my supplementary license course and deal with Icyhot and Deku and DAMNIT! This was all getting annoying! This had to be the worst fucking timing to try and patch things up with my ex.

I hated that word for you..."Ex."

I throw my arm over my eyes, taking a deep breath. I was gonna get a headache if I kept overthinking this. Eventually I heard a knock at my door, not even caring who the hell could be bothering me right now as I grumbled, "come in."

As my dorm room door creaks open, I open one eye to see Kirishima peek his head in, "hey bro..."

"What is it, Shitty Hair?" I say mildly annoyed, covering my eyes again with my arm.

"Just came to check on ya. You kinda just abruptly skipped out on our training after school today so I thought something was up," Kirishima says, walking further into my dorm room. "You uh...got something on your mind?" he asks, a little puzzled.

I sigh as I lift my arm from my eyes, staring up at the ceiling, "no, I don't. Why the hell are you interrogating me?"

"It's just that usually you're lecturing me for something by now, like not closing your door all the way," Kirishima adds, pointing his thumb back at my cracked open door.

I feel my eye twitch slightly as I glare at him, "then how about you close it, idiot."

"See? That's how I know something's on your mind, man!" Kirishima says, moving to shut the door like I told him to, "you get all quiet and broad when you're thinking hard."
