CHAPTER 2

"We come into this world and we are taught that life is a process of attainments. Or the collection of attainments. But I have since discovered that life is a process of rising above in the moments. The river wants to flow downhill or the wave wants to take you under; but you instead sit on a rock or surf the top of that wave. We essentially all have to be mermaids, every day, to live this life. There is a constant flow of water current: going up and going down. You go up to be happy."

Harmony's conversation with her brother had left her feeling concerned and determined to help him . She decided to talk to their father about the situation and see if they could resolve the issue with the school.

As the two siblings were in the living room, they decided to give their father a call since he couldn't make it to their small apartment due to certain commitments. They decided to explain the situation via call which despite the distance, he listened attentively and they came to a conclusion of visiting the school on the coming Monday.

The conversation with their father left Reilly a bit relieved and grateful, whilst  Harmony smiled As she felt a sense of hope. Maybe this would be a solution to Reilly's problems after all. After the conversation the siblings parted ways, with Reilly heading out for a stroll with his friends leaving his sister behind in thoughts, she wondered to Ramiel and what he would be doing tonight and whether he was thinking about his work or...

Brushing off the thoughts of him, she wondered of how 3 years ago she had graduated with a first class honors in management and information technology, but the harsh reality of the African economy had hit her hard. Despite her best efforts, she couldn't secure a job in her field. She remembered how frustration and dissapointment filled her days as she struggled to make ends meet.

To survive,Harmony took on various part time jobs. She worked as a waitress, a sales girl, and even a freelance artist, trying to make a living and staying true to her passion. Though it was tough, she remained determined and hopeful.

As she navigated the challenges of her life, Harmony held onto her dreams as well, she continued to create art, write and explore new opportunities. Her resilience and positivity inspired those around her, and she remained a beacon of hope in her community.....

The sun shone brightly on the bustling streets of the city. Amidst the chaos, Harmony received an unexpected call from a local art gallery, they wanted her to showcase her artwork in an upcoming exhibition. This could be her big break.....

Ramiel stood in his sleek, modern office, gazing out the window at the city below. His mind was already on the next big deal, the next challenge to conquer. As a successful architect and entrepreneur, he'd built his business from the ground up, and he   wasn't about to let it falter anytime soon.

His days were filled with meetings, negotiations, and strategy sessions. But despite the demands of his business, he always made time for his philanthropic work. Giving back to the community was important to him, and he felt a sense of fulfilment in helping others.

As he worked on his latest project, Ramiel's thoughts turned to his family. His big sister's wedding had been a few years ago, but he still remembered the joy on her face as she exchanged vows with her husband. He wondered if he'd ever find that kind of love for himself.

Born Ramiel Grayson he was the son of a former president, and his life was shaped by the privileges and responsibility that came with it. He had three siblings, including his big sister Raquel, who was known for her activism and  compassion. His two brothers, Reign the eldest of them all and Royal the youngest and notorious, were involved in politics and business, respectively.

Royal's more laid back nature provided a contrast to Ramiel's driven personality. The siblings supported each other, but their differences often led to interesting conflicts and power struggles.

This pressure influenced his choices, from his education to his career and often left him wondering if he was living his own life or fulfilling his family's expectations.

As he navigated the complexities of his life, Ramiel couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to forge his own path, to make his own decisions, and to live life on his own terms. The buzzing of the intercom brought him back to reality with his assistant reminding him of his upcoming meetings and an exhibition that was to come the following week. He nodded to himself, refocusing on the task at hand. He had a reputation for being one of the most driven and successful entrepreneurs in the city and he intended to keep it that way..
