Christian sits in a cramped hospital room, staring at a prescription slip in his hand. The fluorescent lights hum above him as the weight of his financial and emotional struggles presses down. Paano nga ba siya napunta rito? Oh, right, he got dizzy and his coworker sent him here.

His phone buzzes with a notification, but he ignores it, choosing instead to type out his thoughts. Napabuntong hininga na lamang si Christian.

Bills.

He locks his phone and leans back, closing his eyes as exhaustion takes over.

Vrix is reviewing paperwork, but his mind drifts. He absentmindedly scrolls through social media and freezes when he sees Christian's tweet.

Vrix felt alarm when he saw his Omega's tweet. "Hospital?" Kunot noo nitong tanong. "Bakit siya nasa ospital?"

He immediately calls his secretary, Sonia, a sharp and resourceful beta woman who has handled many of Vrix's crises in the past.

Vrix's Call one of his secretary. "Sonia, I need you to find out everything about Christian's hospital visit. Why was he there? Is he okay?"

Sonia without a second thought, said, "Understood, sir. I'll get back to you as soon as I can."

Vrix ends the call and sits back, tapping his fingers on his desk anxiously.

Vrix said to himself, "I should've been there. I should've known."

Christian vacation leave is now over and after he leaves the hospital and heads straight to work. The café is bustling, and he juggles tasks, trying to keep up despite feeling drained. His coworkers notice his pale complexion but don't say anything.

They're worried but it was none of the business. They wanted to ask Christian but they know that they could have no help.

During a short break, Christian checks his phone and sees a direct message from Vrix.

Christian stares at the message, his emotions warring inside him. After a moment, he locks his phone without replying.

Christian thought to himself, "I don't need him. I can handle this."

Later in the day, Sonia enters Vrix's office with a detailed report.

Sonia walk in the office and give her report. "Sir, Christian was in the hospital for a routine check-up. It appears related to his pregnancy."

Vrix felt relieved but also guilty. "So, he's okay? The baby's okay?" His voice has worries in it.

Sonia nodded her head and answered, "Yes, sir. But it seems he's under a lot of stress, which might not be good for his condition."

Vrix nods, gripping the report tightly. "Thank you, Sonia. That'll be all."

As Sonia leaves, Vrix stares at the report, feeling a surge of guilt and helplessness.

"He shouldn't have to go through this alone. But how do I convince him I care?"

Perlas sees Christian's tweet and immediately decides to visit him. She storms into Christian's apartment, groceries in hand.

Perlas worriedly asked, "Sid! Ano na naman 'tong pinopost mo? Hospital bills? Stress? Bakit hindi ka nagsasabi?" Hinawakan naman niya si Christian sa magkabilang balikat nito.

Napatigil naman si Christian, when he saw his Ate Pat's worried face, he sighed, "Ate Pat, I'm handling it. Kaya ko 'to."

"Sid, hindi ibig sabihin na kaya mo, e kailangan mong gawin lahat mag-isa. You have me. And whether you like it or not, Vrix is still part of this."

Christian felt frustrated immediately. Alam naman niya iyon pero... Mukhang hindi pa ito handa. "I don't want to depend on him. He already made it clear how he feels."

Perlas sighed and she softly said, "But have you made it clear how you feel? Sid, stop punishing yourself."

She hugs him tightly, her voice steady but full of concern.

"You're not alone in this, Sid. Let people in, kahit konti lang."

That evening, Vrix sits in his car outside Christian's apartment building, debating whether to go inside.

Vrix said to himself, "You're the one who hurt him. But you can't just watch him struggle."

He takes a deep breath and starts drafting another message, unsure if Christian will even read it.

After hitting send, he leans back in his seat, the guilt weighing heavier than ever.

Across the city, Vrix reads the message and clenches his jaw. Despite the rejection, he resolves not to give up.

"I'll prove to you, Christian. I'll prove to you that I am sorry."

Both of them staring at their phones, caught in their silent war of pride and vulnerability.
