Seulgi's POV
School started already. I've met with Wendy a couple of time after our classes. I've met a lot of new people too. While all that happened, I still wasn't able to have a proper talk to the girl I'm sharing a room with.
It's crazy to think about that when we're in the same space every night. It's just that she always go home really late, but then I leave earlier than her in the morning. Even the weekends, she's not free. Now I'm curious what this girl's course is. She's insanely busy.
I look back at an empty bed behind me an sigh, before looking up to the wall clock. It's past midninght already. I can't help but get worried, even though I don't know her yet.
I sat on my chair and adjust my table back from being tilted. I look at the plate I've just finished and then closed my eyes taking in the music that's currently blasting on my earphones right now.
I need to keep myself from getting sleepy and music helps me do that. My course is going easy for now, but I know it'll be giving me sleepless nights in the future. I leaned myself back at the chair.
As the song finished, it strangely has a long silent outro. Knowing what the next song is, it's weird to be hearing sobs with it. What the hell? Is there a ghost here? I don't think so.
I carefully opened my eyes, being cautious. I paused the song but the sobs continues, now I hear it behind me.
She's not here yet! There's no wa---
As I turn to look I see a girl crying, like she's actually breaking down. I was looking at her back and I can see her shake in between sobs.
When did she enter? Wat! That's not-- urrgh! Should I?
I slowly stand up but clumsy me hit my table as I do that, it made some of my pens and pencils fall. I gasped in horror.
MY PENS! I picked it all up, putting it back on the table. I just stare at them for a minute before remember why I stood up in the first place. I automatically look behind me. Honestly? I froze at the sight.
I see this really, like really! Maybe the most beautiful human being I've seen in my entire life! I don't even think she's human. The only thing I'm sure of right now is that, she looks like she's in pain.
Her eyes, it's glistening. I notice a single tear drop from the corner as she blinks. I see how she quickly wipe it with her hand, as it run down her cheek. My sight went down to her lips, that's still trembling from her crying. Even with all that I can't help but be in awe.
"I--Wow." That's the only thing that came our of my mouth. I met her eyes
The moment she look away from me, then she stands up and pick up her things, I just then realize she's going out again.
God! At least let me help her ease the pain she's feeling. I feel like I need to. I want to.
I run to the door and blocked it before she can even exit the room. Our eyes met again as she look up to me.
"S-step away." She said. I shook my head.
"It's past midnight a--"
"P-please." She stutters, weakly. Her tears starting to form again.
Do I let her? No! it's already dangerous to go out at this hour! Think Seulgi! How can you comfort her...
"Ple--" I wrap my arms around her. I felt her pause.
I don't know if this is right but this is the only thing I can think of.
"Let me help." I said carefully. "You're hurt. You're in pain. Let me help you, Juhyun." This is the first time I actually get to say her name.
I've known her name from the start, I just didn't had a chance to say it since we never properly meet.
"I know we don't know each other that much yet, but let me do this." I said softly and patted her back.
I her things being drop on the floor and ignored it as soon as I felt her grip on both sides of my shirt. Next thing I heard her cries again.
We stayed in that position until she calm down. I was just softly patting her back incouraging her to let it all out, and I'm happy she did.
We both are just silent with her in my embrace. No one dares to move away. I just know it'll be awkward if we do that.
"Seulgi, right?" She asked in a very low voice.
"Hmm..."
"Thank you." She said. She then slowly move us apart. "And I'm sorry for this." She's looking down, acting all embarassed. She turn her back on me and went back to her side of the room.
"You don't have to apologize." I went back to my side too. I sat on my chair, facing her direction. Should I ask her why she cried? No, maybe not do that.
I curiously look at her every move. This time I took notice on the things on her side of the room.
"A med student?" I questioned that made her look at me. She sat on her chair, opposite to mine.
"I am." No wonder. "I'm guessing, you took up architecture?" She look behind me.
"Yes." I nodded. Then silence, until she spoke again.
"Sorry again for what happened, I didn't mean to bother you." She explains. I gave her an assuring smile.
"Like I said, you don't need to apologize." I said. "I wanted to do it." She look up to me like she's reading me.
"You're something, Seulgi." She said made me confuse.
"What do you mean?" I ask
"I mean, it's nice to finally talk to you." She said.
"Yeah. Our first talk was a little... you were in a hurry." I said to her.
"I'm sorry. I'm just not good at interacting with new people. I promise I didn't mean to be rude or something. " She avoided my stare.
"So, you did thought of accepting that breakfast I bought for you?"
"Actually, I did." Her answer made me smile.
"Then can I buy you breakfast tomorrow?" She shot me a look.
"Why would you do that?" She curiously look at me.
"So we can finally talk about living in the same room for the whole school year?"
"Oh." She look away. "Don't you have early class tomorrow?"
"How'd you know?"
"You're already out everytime I wake up." She said.
"Right! Hehe but don't worry about that. Our instructor will be out of the Uni for a while." I said. "I can definitely have breakfast and talk with you."
"I see." She nodded. "Okay."
"Okay... you'll have breakfast with me?" She look at me and nodd. "Really?"
"Why are you questioning it like you were asking me for a date?" She smiled as she asks.
Her smile is getting to me. I watch her for minute or two, just to admire her.
"What if I was?" She paused and look at me
"H-huh?"
