The chaos finally calmed.
Giselle was snoring softly beside Jungwon, who was using a throw pillow as a blanket. Sunghoon, Wooyoung, and Ningning had claimed the couch like royalty, and Soobin was sleep-talking beside Sunoo, who had a face mask on and headphones in—unplugged, of course.
Beomgyu laid a mattress near the corner of the room, curled up under a fleece blanket. His breathing was steady. Peaceful. His face half-lit by the soft glow of the warm lamp in the corner.
Yeonjun couldn't sleep.
He laid down beside Sunghoon, arms crossed behind his head, eyes open, heart racing.
He told himself to close his eyes.
To just sleep.
But then he looked again.
At Beomgyu.
The boy who used to hide behind loud jokes and fake bravado.
The boy who used to avoid eye contact with him like it was a sin.
The boy who, moments ago, quietly said: "I was scared of how much I liked you."
Yeonjun bit his lip.
He turned slightly to his side, pretending to adjust his pillow, just to sneak another glance. Beomgyu's lips were slightly parted, his brows relaxed. His hair messy and falling over his eyes.
Cute. Soft. Familiar.
His heart thudded—louder than he wanted to admit.
Why are you looking at him like this again?
Why now?
Why does it feel like you're the one catching up to him this time?
He looked away, closed his eyes, tried to steady his breathing.
But curiosity got the best of him again.
One more glance.
And that's when—
Beomgyu stirred, just slightly.
Rolled to his side.
Facing Yeonjun.
Still asleep.
But now their faces were less than two feet apart.
Yeonjun froze.
His breath caught.
He stayed completely still.
Afraid to move.
Afraid to blink.
Beomgyu's hand twitched, like he was reaching for something in his dream. His lips moved, a tiny whisper escaping them.
Yeonjun barely heard it, but he swore—
He swore it sounded like his name.
"...Jun..."
Yeonjun blinked fast.
No way.
Was he dreaming?
He held his breath.
Watched Beomgyu's chest rise and fall gently. His face softened even more in sleep.
And Yeonjun?
He just smiled.
A little.
Barely.
Then turned around—
Hand over his face.
Heart racing.
Maybe he hadn't moved on as much as he thought.
