The morning sun spilled gently through the kitchen windows as Beomgyu hummed to himself. He had woken up early, brushed his teeth, showered, ate a quick breakfast, and now he was in full "host mode."
He didn't know exactly who was coming, but he knew two things: one of them winked and called him cutie, and the other was apparently the brokenhearted chef behind the bibimbap.
So what did Beomgyu do?
Cooked. A lot.
Seven dishes. Seven. For two people he didn't even know and a group of chaotic friends who were maybe coming. It was stress cooking. But also, maybe... he wanted to impress. Just a little.
He had just finished plating the last dish when the doorbell rang.
He quickly wiped his hands, ran to his room, threw on a clean hoodie and joggers (yes, fully dressed—he swears), then hurried to open the door.
And there, standing under the morning light like a chaotic romcom scene, was him.
"Hi again, pretty face!" the energetic guy beamed, flashing a grin that could probably break hearts if weaponized. "I forgot to introduce myself yesterday. I'm Wooyoung! And this guy right here—" he pulled someone from behind him forward, "—this guy's name is Yeonjun. We'd love it if the three of us became a trio."
Beomgyu blinked.
No. No freaking way.
Standing there, right in front of him, was a face he hadn't seen in years.
Sharp eyes. Familiar lips. Same hair that always fell messily, effortlessly. The same guy who unknowingly inspired Beomgyu to become top of his class. The guy who haunted his journals. The guy who said goodbye at graduation with a small smile and a "don't neglect your studies."
Yeonjun.
Beomgyu's breath hitched. His mind blanked.
Yeonjun blinked back at him, face slowly shifting from confusion to realization.
"...B-Beomgyu?" Yeonjun muttered.
Beomgyu swallowed hard. "Yeonjun-hyung...?"
The air turned still.
Wooyoung's smile faltered. He looked between the two like he had just walked into a plot twist he wasn't ready for.
"Wait—hold on. You know each other?" Wooyoung asked, completely confused
Neither of them answered right away.
