Graduation practice was dragging again.
Yeonjun stood in line, shifting from foot to foot, bored out of his mind. His folder of documents was tucked under one arm—forms for clearance, requirements, certificates... the usual senior year chaos. He let out a small sigh and glanced around the hallway as the others chattered behind him.
That's when he saw him.
Beomgyu.
Walking down the hallway, surrounded by friends, animatedly talking about something.
He almost didn't think.
Just smiled. Instinctively. Like muscle memory. Like he had done it before.
And for a split second, Beomgyu looked up—right at him.
Their eyes met.
Beomgyu's face froze. Then he blushed so hard, Yeonjun almost laughed. The younger boy squeaked and took off running like he just got caught in a crime scene.
Yeonjun blinked.
What was that?
He turned back toward the hallway, confused but... kind of amused. That reaction was new. Beomgyu was usually loud, dramatic, always surrounded by chaos. But this was different.
Kind of cute.
Yeonjun frowned. Wait, cute?
He shook his head. No. Not like that. He was just being nice. Beomgyu was a junior, a class clown. That was it.
When he walk past the rest of Beomgyu's gang, a girl he couldn't remember the name was looking at him from head to toe as if she was judging his whole identity.
Still, he couldn't stop thinking about the way Beomgyu looked right before running. Like he was flustered. Like Yeonjun had just ruined his whole day by smiling.
But... in a good way?
"Yeonjun, line's moving," someone called out. He snapped back to reality and stepped forward.
As they stood in place again, Yeonjun absentmindedly glanced toward the other end of the hallway, just to check if he was still there.
He wasn't.
Yeonjun sighed. Weird.
Then under his breath, he mumbled:
"...What are you doing to me, Beomgyu?"
