Takemichi POV

I woke up to the sound of rain pouring outside. The doctor had told me yesterday I could go home today. The rain, however, was delaying for me to do so. I sighed as I remembered all that had happened before my visit to the hospital. Had Draken and Mikey fought? What if I had caused bigger problems by trying to step in?

I had to make sure things hadn't escalated between the two of them. Ensuring that Draken didn't die was a priority. All I was hoping for was that I hadn't been the facilitator in allowing that to be carried out. As a result of my outburst against Mikey. "All that frowning you do is probably what landed you here, too." I heard a familiar voice, "Y/N? What happened to you?" Noticing she was completely soaked in her sports uniform.

Shrugging her shoulders, she made her way over. "The rain got a jump start on me." Is all she said, placing her duffel bag on the tile flooring. "One hell of a jump don't you think?" I jokingly asked. She softly laughed, "You have no idea." I watched as she went to grab a nearby chair to sit beside me.

"Well, what's important here is you.", she reached to touch my hand on the bed, "How are you feeling Takemichi?" Her eyes were noticeably red and puffy. It was a bit obvious she had been crying, but I didn't point it out. Instead of reeling over what she was or had been crying about; she was focusing on me and my well-being.

Clearing my throat as I replied. "Well, I'm suppose to be able to go home today." Gesturing to the outside through the window, "It looks like not right now though." Slightly turning to glance at the window, she softly said, "Yeah seems like it."

"Y/N", she turned her attention back to me, "How are things with Draken and Mikey?" At my question, she slightly lowered her head as she replied. "Not so good. They're both at a disagreement right now. Regarding Pachin." I looked away from her and down to where her hand was on mine.

"Is that why you were crying?" I couldn't help but ask now that my fear had been confirmed of those two arguing. She let go of my hand, pulling away as she went to touch her arm instead. Clearly unsure of how to respond. "Hmm", she began, "It's that obvious, huh?" She softly said as she kept her gaze downward.

Immediately taken over by regret I tried to correct myself. Apologizing for intruding too much. "No", I hesitated to choose what to say, "I just figured maybe that's why you were feeling sad." Frantically trying to find a better explanation for my assumption. She shook her head, "Don't worry about it." With a soft smile on her face.

I stared at her, now feeling concerned. Internally thinking back to the future. Her future. Especially to the last moment I had seen her. Defeat and sadness all over her face. Right now, one of those emotions was completely attempting to overtake her. "Y/N", I started to say, wanting to let her know she wasn't alone. "You can tell me anything you want." I reassured her.

Glancing over to me she just gave me another smile, "Thanks, Takemichi." Not what I had expected, but I hoped she could be able to trust me. I couldn't allow to see her life become what it did twelve years from now. She deserved better. She deserved to be with the—

"Y/N", suddenly finding myself asking, "do you have a boyfriend?" Clearly taken aback by my question, she hesitated to answer. "Boyfriend?", someone else spoke up, "Why do you care if she has a boyfriend?!" I irked up straight recognizing the voice. Turning to look at her, shaking, " Hina", sheepishly saying as I noticed her standing inside the room.

"Here I am", she spoke, clearly irritated, "Walking through this rain to come see you, and you're here asking this girl about a boyfriend??" I panicked as she made her way over to us. Frantically shaking my hands in front of her as she approached the bed. "No, No, Hina!", desperation in my voice, "You got it wrong. I'm not-"
