"I'm back bitches," Isaac sings, dragging out the 's'.
"Hey zaddy," Larry sings back when Isaac makes an appearance in the living room.
"Food's in the kitchen, papi," Nick makes kissy faces at Isaac.
"Thanks baby," Isaac walks towards the kitchen and smacks Nick's ass on the way.
Isaac is turning away from the living room, continuing to venture through the house to presumably his room, when the red string connecting us pulls me up and out of my seat on the bean bag. I don't need to follow the string after the initial pull, my anticipation is already carrying my feet to follow Isaac.
"Hey Isaac?" He doesn't even glance back, but I continue anyway. "I'd like to have a talk whenever you're ready, I can wait for you to get out of the shower or whatever you need to do."
"What did you want to talk about?" Isaac finally turns around and addresses me.
"I know that we haven't interacted that much and we've only known each other for a month, but I want to know where you stand on being soulmates? I don't mind not being-"
He cuts me off, "let me cut to the chase, I'm not interested."
"Oh. That's okay," I pause for a moment. He's starting to walk away, but I continue following him because curiosity killed the cat, "I have no problem not being together, but could I maybe know why? We haven't even really talked-"
"Y/n, just leave me alone."
We're at his bedroom door now, and he twists the doorknob, about to step inside.
"Ouch. What'd I do to you?"
Isaac whips around, he's in my face in seconds, "I don't need you. Not now, and I never will. Now, I told you to leave me alone."
I've never seen this side of Isaac. It's not like we talk a lot, but I do watch his videos from time to time and even if he puts on a persona, I think this aggression is a little unwarranted. I would normally back down because I don't want the confrontation, but something about this is making me a little angry, but I try to remain level headed.
"I never said that you need-"
"Is 4 other guys not enough for you? Do you just need everyone's attention? Do I need to spell it out for you? Get lost."
Wow. What the fuck? This just makes my blood boil. I lose all the remaining composure that I tried to hold just a moment ago.
"How fucking dare you. Fuck you, Isaac. I don't even know what I fucking did to you. But you don't want anything to do with me? Perfectly fucking fine. I don't want anything to do with you either. I'll leave you alone, but don't expect me to come back."
"Good. It's not like you actually cared anyway."
"Not like I actually cared? What do you even mean?" I pause, because I really would love to hear what answer he has to this, but of course, he has none. I'm done listening to him. "Y'know what Isaac, whatever. Goodbye."
I got in the last word as I left. I couldn't even bask in the glory yet because all I felt was anger. I stomp my way through the house, to the front door, and get ready to leave before I'm stopped by Nick and Yumi, with Tanner and Larry from afar.
"Y/n? What's going on?" Nick asks.
"Go ask Isaac, I'm not in a good mood." I don't mean to take my anger out on them, so I take a deep breath, "I'm sorry."
Blake looks angry, "what did he do?"
"He was just being a dick, that's all."
Blake is about to walk away, but Nick grabs his shoulder and gives him a look, "I'll talk to Isaac," Nick then walks off.
"I'm coming with," Blake calls and then gives me a hug that I didn't know I needed. "I'm sorry, text me when you get home okay?" He whispers in my ear and gives me a smile when he pulls away, then goes to follow Nick.
"You okay, N/n?" Tanner and Larry replace Nick and Blake.
I sigh, "I'll be fine. I'm just angry, so I'm going home for now."
"We'll be here if you need us for anything," Larry is the first one to offer a hug that I gratefully accept.
"Thank you guys," being in their arms eases me temporarily, but I am ready for some time with my thoughts alone.
They both walk me out to my car, Larry dramatically sliding over the hood of my car to open my driver's seat door before I get there. It succeeds in making me laugh and feeling just a tiny bit better. I hop in my car and Tanner is leaning on the passenger window, while Larry is leaning on the driver window.
"Drive safe, let us know when you get home girly," Larry says in a higher pitched, girl-like voice.
He's so random, but I think it's to make me laugh and I love it.
"Will do, boo," I wink at him.
"Byeeeeeeee," Tanner plays in on the bit with a voice of his own and wiggles his fingers as a wave, blowing me a kiss as well.
They both step back from my car and stand next to each other, waving as I back out of the driveway. As I'm getting ready to pull off, I give a wave, but I see Tanner burp in Larry's face and Larry gags, causing Tanner to double over in laughter. I just shake my head at these two random goofballs with a smile on my face. I think about how lucky I am on my way home, and then my mood spurs thinking about Isaac again.
As I sit on the couch, barely even paying attention to my favorite show playing on the screen, all I can play back is mine and Isaac's conversation. How did it go wrong? I try to remember every interaction we've had, going over possibilities that I could've done something wrong? Was he just a sour person? I don't think it had anything to do with me. Even as I lay in bed, all I can think about is what might have went wrong. Fuck you, Isaac.
